The trick with Common-law is that you BOTH have to present yourself as man-and-wife. Then to setup up joint accounts for records' sake. If you don't do those things, you'll be safe. Unless you draw in the crazies...that's on you then! :p

Until now I found incoherent, inconsistent and mentally younger women than me. Or hook-ups.

A clerk ?
A county clerk isn't a very 'glamourous' job, but they're the one in charge of county records. They also have power over some licenses and permits. And are also involved in elections involving the county.

Though I think more relevant than the responsibilities in this case is the fact that most are elected positions, meaning that it's a way to start delving into politics, interacting with others in your party and showing to that party that you're a good candidate to run for a higher office.

Not to mention that the work you'd do as a clerk is something you could point to as a political portfolio when you do start running for those higher offices.

In the case of Mr. Chris Hollins... I don't like him, because he's previously used his position to support drive-through voting and mail-in voting.

Still strongly think State Senator John Whitmire (D-Houston) will likely be Houston's next Mayor in 2023 due to $$$$$$ & the political connections he's got over the years.

Fox 26 KRIV-TV Houston reporting TX Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick (R) plans on pushing legislation to ban CRT in colleges & universities including pushing to fire professors who teach it.

NBC 36 KXAN-TV Austin segment on Patrick declaring war on the University of Texas at Austin:

I'd like similar legislation in my state. I'd actually like state funding to be cut to any university that takes part in any of it. If they want to do it, they can do it on their own dime.

Big question is whether Patrick will up the ante even further against HBCU's who might defy the CRT ban & teach the controversial practice ?

Like I say - just pulling the state funding would have a huge effect. "Diversity" is expensive, in part because of all the "diverse" people they need to administrate it. ;) True, you'd get the usual backlash about supposedly hating education, but you're going to get that no matter what, and it's just as meaningless as all their other attacks. Now that this CRT shit is out in the open for all to see, these attacks will not gain them any support from those who aren't already completely brainwashed.

I wonder, they say that higher education is good for you? So give the woke idiots a nice test to see if they have learned their major while in school. Not multiple choice answers. Said answers must be written out in paragraph form. They are college students they should be able to find the answers.

Gee can't complete the test and the scores are posted? Gee, did you learn the material? Oh, there was no racism involved. Every student was assigned a number and those numbers were written on the papers so no one knows who you are. Thus how is it racist?

I'm interpreting at how the triggered WOKE folks will react when the GOP-controlled TX State Legislature ups the ante even further by banning CRT in colleges & universities across the Lone Star State in the 2023 legislative session.
