Isn't Texas Red since 2000?
Texas Democrats have always been plugged into urban political machines and as the Texas triangle gains preeminence in state government and economy once again they're flexing their muscle. We're lucky that the best they've come up with is Robbie O'Rourke as a brand name leader, but he has an embarrassing amount of support even now. The southern counties are trending to the right thanks to the Dems being pillocks and if the GOP can avoid fucking things up like usual the Republicans may capture every single county that isn't in DFW, Houston, Austin, and El Paso, which will secure the state, but things are closer than we'd like atm.

Sadly, not red enough.
*all* the major metroplexes are hardcore blue fruitloops, and they're *expanding like cancer*
Howdy from the Alamo City.

Latest developments on the winter weather effecting the Lone Star State:
*Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner (D) announced that Houston ISD will be closed tomorrow.

*TX Governor Greg Abbott (R) said the Lone Star State is better prepared this time.

Big question is whether Abbott can flip Harris County, Dallas County & Bexar County back to Red in November ?

I've made my disdain for the man well known in this thread, but my fingers are crossed.

Press conference of TX Governor Greg Abbott (R) on the winter weather effecting the Lone Star State:

Can you give a summary?

BTW how are you? I narrowly made it home ahead of the freeze late Wednesday night..

Texas and freeze. I only passed through your state guys for like half an hour by bus (close to the Oklahoma panhandle I think) BUT I would never have thought that you could see those two words together.

On a different note. Can I ask you guys an opinion on this ?

MA in English

First thoughts that come to mind.

Now I know that Texas is open unlike California and so on.

Take into account also that after an MA in English I don't plan plan (at first, let's see what the future will hold).

You're moving to TX ?

@The Whispering Monk @Zachowon gave me a hint that Texas might be a good place to study/work there since I am polyglot. When and if are still a thing for me though.

Because your immigration system is cumbersome and difficult for those who want to enter legit into the country. Frankly, I think I probably should get a tourist visa THEN starting to look for work from there.

We're super aggressive in securing the borders in TX.

The state is cracking down where the fed wont.
Translators are VERY useful all over the country, and Texas and other southern states for Spanish

Texas and Florida are the ones I am more inclined to at least visit.

Florida : lots of Brazilians. A potential decent starting point. Con is that is the identity fraud capital of the US.

Texas : you guys already pointed out the pros, not to mention the job oppurtunities. Cons I don't think I could stand the Texas weather because I am that kind of European who loves to walk out and go on bike.

Actually lots of great weather for that in Texas if you don't mind the heat.
GA ? You mean Galveston ?
He means Georgia. GA is the state's abbreviation.

Do both. Start looking at companies now, and then get your Tourist Visa. That way you have a head start.

Oh right. Coincidentally, I think I have the son of a second grade cousin (yes , I am very much latino in that, large family that knows me but I can name like 20/30 of them) who said he could help me get there or getting an easier way...don't what it meant though.

I will try to do research once I can recover from my university exams.

Well, I am single again in just a year so I am like yeah no. I am in the mood of no string attached at best. But I will take into consideration.

Also :

In Texas, all it takes is 6 months of declaring yourselves as married for Common Law Marriage to be recognized. Nothing else is required.

This doesn't exactly encourage me to like seek a female companion. Not to mention about potentially encountering someone trigger-happy on meetooing just for shit and giggles.
