CW 39 KIAH-TV Houston news segment on State Rep. Garnet Coleman (D-Houston) not seeking reelection in 2022 after 32 years in the TX State Legislature.

They also discussed Whitmire announcing his campaign for Houston Mayor in 2023 including that his campaign warchest has $11 million.

I have mixed opinions on Mrs. Johnson. On one hand, she's a legitimate Texas trailblazer and earned her spot in politics the hard way. She was one of the first black women to enter politics in Texas and did so only five years after Civil Rights. She's also legitimately popular in her district and importantly to me is actually from Texas. On the other hand, she is a generic corrupt Democrat. The only time she got caught was when she gave out Black Caucus scholarships to relatives and associates, but if I know anything about Dallas politics that was just a case of her being too blatant to ignore. I give her props for being consistently anti-intervention, but she played a lot of partisan games when it came to voting laws and is atrocious on border control.

Congratulations are in order for her accomplishments (and condolences for being the target of GOP gerrymandering), but it's high time she got replaced by another corrupt DNC apparatchik. Thirty years is too long to have occupied a single office in my opinion.

Something tells me the GOP-controlled TX State Legislature will gut TX's 30th Congressional in 10 years including the 9th & 18th Congressional Districts.

Well, that's a relief. When my employer got news of the mandate, they put out a 'we know this is a divisive subject, so we haven't made a decision until we get more info.' memo.

The memo's been on the wall and hasn't changed for a month, which could mean they forgot about it, or that they forgot to tell us their decision. 🤷‍♂️

But it's nice to know that there are other options than resignation if they started pushing.

Unlike what happened on ABC's "GH" where Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) got fired because he refused to follow the vaccine mandate.
