As San Francisco crumbles, we're seeing increasing efforts by Liberals to distance themselves from it. I noticed this first on SB some months ago with moderators suddenly deciding that the failures of SF were because it was so conservative, but as it undeniably gets worse in the town the narrative that True Liberalism Has Never Been Tried in San Francisco is really picking up steam.
Voters are starting to get sick of SF's antics and voted out Boudin, which has prompted MSM outlets to proclaim that Liberals can't get a fair shake in SF, and have never been able to do so because the town is so conservative.
The tweets are revealing. This one's generated particular amusement in people.
San Francisco was governed by Republicans for most of the 20th Century! <Quiet Part>By which we mean 53/100 years, the last time being over three generations ago!</Quiet Part>
The standard version of "True X has never been tried:" The results were bad, therefore it wasn't my ideology because my ideology can only ever have good results.
I'm trying to wrap my head around how staggeringly far-left you have to be to think endorsing Bloomberg proves you're an arch-conservative. I'm failing.

yeah in the cities its gone but you go into the rural and desert areas and you get firmly into red territory, that said its mostly rebuilding itself with hispanic leadership because they pretty much correctly looked at the current leadership saw it was weak and pathetic and have been taking over. ]
