Great video. I was surprised to see a Scottish lad cover the topic, let alone cover it deeper than any other source I've watched. I mean, I knew about the Battle of Athens and the crooked election, but none of the incidents leading up to that. The role that a political machine played in is drastically overlooked, IMO.

All I have to add to this is that the Battle of Athens was the last hurrah of the Old West. Tell me, if the returning soldiers had been cowboys returning from a cattle drive, only to find that their town has gone from bad to worse, would the result be any different?
