A total of forty-eight Stockholm flats that housed the elderly before they were kicked out have been reopened to accommodate newly arrived migrants.
This week, asylum seekers and migrants moved their belongings into Dianagården, a residential building in Stockholm that formerly housed the elderly until they were told they had to leave because the toilets in the building were five centimeters too small to comply with building regulations, Fria Tider reports.
According to the Swedish news outlet, politicians simply used the building code violation as a pretext to remove the elderly so that they could move the immigrants into the building at a later date.
Although many Swedes were quite upset upon hearing about the news, Andrea Ström of the Moderate Party thinks the allocation of the 48 units to “contribute to integration” is a “very good” thing.
Since the migrant crisis began in 2015, Sweden has taken in more asylum seekers and migrants per capita than any other country. In addition to facing growing violent crime and sexual assaults, Swedish municipalities are also running out of funds to support the welfare-dependent migrants.
Weeks ago, Voice of Europe reported that eight of ten municipalities in Sweden is set to slash funds for basic public services – including those for the disabled and the elderly – to offset the high cost of taking in large numbers of welfare-dependent migrants.
The situation in Sweden has deteriorated to such an extent that the Danish government has introduced border checks from Sweden to ensure their country’s security.
In October, the former CEO of Scania, a major trucking company in Sweden, warned that the country could be headed towards a civil war due to the social problems that have bubbled up as a result taking in massive numbers of migrants from alien cultures.

Teens who are willing to exploit others for their own gain are more likely to be bullies and to have more sexual partners than those who score higher on a measure of honesty and humility. That's what a new study from a team at Brock University suggests.
A team including Brock associate professor of child and youth studies Anthony Volk had previously found that bullies had more sex.
They wanted to know: Was it all bullies, or just ones with particular personality traits?
In the follow-up, which was published last month in Evolutionary Psychology Science, they studied a comparison of different negative traits.
Would someone lacking empathy have more sexual partners? Someone with a short fuse?
As it turned out, the variable that could be correlated to having more sex was scoring low on a measure of humility and honesty. Someone who is arrogant and manipulative, and willing to be so, is more likely to have more sex, Volk's team found.
"That's really the only one that came up as being predictive of people taking this behaviour and using it to exploit others," he said. "It's also the trait that best predicts bullying overall."
They set up two groups: 144 older adolescents with a mean age of 18.3, and 396 younger adolescents with a mean age of 14.6.
They gave each a questionnaire about their sexual activity as well as likelihood of bullying.
Personality a bigger factor than gender
They found that regardless of gender, teens with low humility-honesty readings were more likely to bully and to use that bullying as a strategy to have more sex.
"Both adolescent boys and girls will use an advantage in power to impress and get opportunities to have sex with their desired partners," he said. "The best answer is that it seems to be driven by personality, not by gender."
The study has Volk and his team, including Daniel Provenzano of the University of Windsor, thinking about what can be done to curb teen bullying. He said it boils down to this:
How do you give someone with that personality trait an alternative way to achieve what they're achieving through bullying?
"So if you're trying to impress the opposite sex, if you're trying to impress your peers, you can do that by hurting weaker people to show off your power," he said. "Or in this system that we're trying to pilot … if you give them roles in the classroom that give them that dominance and visibility."
Volk said the team will be rolling out a test intervention in some Niagara-area schools in the coming year as part of an evaluation of kinds of interventions.
For younger students, that might look like being the door greeter at school, so everyone sees and acknowledges them on the way in.
"That's a way of meeting that arrogance, that self-centredness that underlies honesty-humility," he said.
"You still punish the bullying, but you have to recognize the same time that if you just say, 'Stop bullying – we're going to punish you,' and you can't catch them in the first place … you're saying, stop having the benefits of having sex and being popular and getting all the resources you want because we said so," he said.
"It doesn't work. So you have to give them an alternative that allows them to still get those same benefits without hurting other people."

Created by Elisabeth Ohlson Wallin, the photo illustration was offered to the Saint Paul Church in Malmo where it was placed to the right of the main altarpiece on the first Sunday of Advent, December 1.
On Wednesday the diocese said it would remove it from the altar -- but not because the Lutheran Church of Sweden had a problem with the gay couples.
Perched in the tree, a transsexual woman is dressed as a serpent, dangling a snake from her hand.
"The fact that there are two homosexual couples in the artwork is completely uncontroversial," the diocese wrote in a statement.
"But the fact that there is a snake, which traditionally symbolises evil, and that it turns into a transperson could lead to the interpretation that a transperson is evil or the devil."
"The Swedish Church can absolutely not stand for that."
The pastor of Saint Paul, Sofia Tunebro, regretted the decision.
"We've been marrying gay couples for 10 years, and with this artwork, it was a bit like hanging up a wedding photo in the church," she told AFP.
"Elisabeth Ohlson Wallin has done so much for the integration and representation of (LGBTQ people) in the Christian world," said Tunebro, who was ordained 12 years ago.
The 58-year-old artist -- who made headlines 20 years ago with her controversial Ecce Homo exhibit, featuring among other things Jesus in stilettos surrounded by 12 transvestite apostles -- said she too was disappointed.
"My calling has been to create Christian works which LGBTQ people can identify with," she told AFP.
The Church of Sweden, headed by a female archbishop since 2014, was among the first in the world to ordain female priests in 1958, and to marry homosexuals, in 2009.
Also in 2009, Eva Brunne was elected the first openly lesbian bishop in the world, according to Swedish media.
"The Church of Sweden wants to be a modern church and follow changes in society," Magdalena Nordin, a professor of religion at the University of Gothenburg, told AFP.
