So this is starting to gain national attention.

Long story short, a guy lead police on a high speed chase, fired. Gun out a window, bailed from the car wearing a ski mask, ran from the police, one officer opened fire, and then the rest mag dumped. There were 90 shots fired, and the man was hit at least 60 times.

The Akron Police Department released body cam footage from 13 cameras yesterday.

There have been small protests all week. Last night they set a few dumpsters on fire and busted up some restaurant windows.

I, for one, and glad I no longer work and live in Akron.

This will probably be getting national attention soon, and the video does look...really bad. So summer of love 2.0 incoming. I just wish it wasn't my home town that's the center of it all.

Looks like they're planning riots in Portland over this.

Last night a few dumpsters were pushed into the road and set on fire, and at least three businesses (two of them minority owned and one of them my favorite restaurant in rhe area,) had their windows smashed. Police tear gassed the crowd and they dispersed.

They cancelled the downtown fireworks, event at the baseball stadium and the big Rib White and Blue rib cook-off, which is one of the biggest events the city has.

More protests expected tonight. If I can get hold of a go-pro off someone, I might go be a journalist and document some of this.

If you do, for the love of God be careful. I'd at least recommend some sort of concealed/slim body armor if you have any. Maybe also a knife or pepper spray, assuming you don't want to go the whole nine yards and bring a conceled gun if you've got one.

Considerinf taking my glock and pepper spray along with an n95 and goggles if I go. My only concern there is that while concealed carry is legal, if the police try to arrest me as a rioter, that'll get my some felony charges. I won't be rioting, I will be there as an independent journalist. I'm still weighing options. I really want to capture this, but as safely as possible.

I don't have any armor but I'm going to see if my friends have any.

Still in the planning phases and I may decide that the danger isn't worth it. But if things come together I am highly considering it, as I find this very important to capture.

As I get news I am going to make new posts. I hope no one minds double posting, but personally I find it easier to manage when each piece of news gets its own post rather than continuously editing one post.

So anyways, latest updates I have received from some friends on the ground was that 25 businesses were damaged last night.

Today is the holiday, and the videos were only released yesterday, so there's been time for it to spread and for people to organize. The rioting will likely be much more intense tonight.
