Coming this September (projected), the next expansion for Star Wars The Old Republic (SWTOR): Onslaught

And well, any other sorts of discussion about this game.

While they aren't really doing 'class stories' anymore, they do have four different options of storyline beginning with the last big update, Jedi Under Siege. Republic Loyalist and Imperial Loyalist are pretty much what they sound like. Republic Saboteur and Imperial Saboteur is your character going "double agent" on their old faction.

Sounds pretty neat to me. Maybe, I should actually try to play this game when it comes out.

In the upcoming expansion there will be two new planets: Onderon and Mek-Sha. Here are some screenshots from the demo that was held at San Diego Comic Con:

I've never gotten back into things since KOTET came out. I completed it, I mean, but I never did more than start the return to... whatever that droid planet Scorpio took over was. I just lost all interest in continuing SWTOR, just as I lost interest in STO.

But those new worlds do look interesting.

The Iokath stuff was interesting, as were the three flashpoints afterwards as part of "Fractured Alliance." Could have been done better, but I enjoyed them for what they were. I think Jedi Under Siege and the lead up to Onslaught was fun for me at least.

I tried SWOTOR a while ago, and while the story was ok to great and the world's themselves were awesome to see and explore, the combat got on my nerves (because it was just a constant chain of "hit theses 4 powers in sequence, wipe this group of trash mobs, repeat forever), and the constant "go fetch me 20 bear's asses" quests got really old, really fast. If they ever fix those last two, I might try it again.

It's been a while since I last played Swtor. I quit sometime before Knights of the Eternal Throne came out. Didn't see much point in continuing since I finished all the class stories, planetary stories, Makeb and Shadow of Revan. I also ran through KOTFE once.

How is Swtor these days? I remember hating it when they introduced level scaling and when they revamped all bonus missions. It ended up introducing bugs in certain missions like the one where you compete with Thana Vesh. This change made it impossible to win one of the challenges since the bonus mission for it didn't exist anymore. I'd be surprised if they fixed that.

Having all my planetary missions and miscellaneous missions reset when KOTFE came out was also really annoying. I went through a lot of effort to 100% complete everything. Even every bonus mission. All of that got undone.

Did things change significantly? If they did, I might just do the free 7 days referal trick again to unlock content (if they didn't remove it) and check out the game. For those who don't know about it, you can have someone refer you to the game and it gives you both bonuses.

If you have subbed at any point, using the referral link will give you free 7 days of sub time. You can use another referral link every 3 months for an extra 7 days of sub time (the items can only be gotten once). I did this to unlock KOTFE content instead of paying since becoming a sub (whatever the method) unlocks it permanently.

They recently made some changes to the free to play and preferred player model, giving a bit more perks to it. Honestly I think it's pretty good, but I'm heavily biased and am honestly not really the best at getting into the nitty gritty on all the features.

I have played off and on since launch. The beginning to me was a bit too much WoW Clone with lightsabers (but still fun) and really grindy. When I came back with KoTFE the grind wasn't so bad. Since I've been back again (around December) I've leveled all eight class stories, and two characters all the way through current content, not including the one i already had finished Chapter 9 of KoTFE with. I think they streamlined it better. But YMMV.

Has SWTOR changed it's Free to play model or is it still the same?
They improved it a good bit from what I understand. Somethings are still not as good, like afaik you still get less XP but I havnt been F2P in a year or two

Free-to-play was recently updated last month with update 5.10.4. They increased the credit cap, added an extra quickbar, and allow free-to-play users to use the medical probe and quick travel (and no longer something you have to buy in the cartel market).

Also, with the release of Onslaught (6.0 - the next expansion), the expansions The Rise of the Hutt Cartel and Shadow of Revan will be available to Free-to-Play users. This announcement was made at SDCC on July 20.

Maybe you should. The Imperial Side stories were overall pretty good, especially when you have the fitting species for any given class.

Actually never played any of the Imperial stories. I played Jedi Knight and Consular then did half the smuggler one before I burnt out.

Huh, and I thought the final fight against Arcann at the end of KotFE would be totally up your ally. Cause it's got a shield mechanic ;) (yes. an actual shield)

I normally play the game solo myself and when Onslaught comes out will probably be heavy into that. Either way, I have characters on both Star Forge and Satele Shan (my best geared is a Sentinel on Satele Shan), so if folks wanna say hi, just let me know.
