When the other side is trying to weaponize every aspect of the government against you, you don't give them the money to hurt you even more. Honestly if the republican establishment hadn't stabbed their base in the back this would have been an even worse year for the dems.

Not necessarily; only the slim win gave the Freedom Caucus the leverage to pull this off.

The slim margin cost the establishment it's stranglehold on the House GOP leadership and that is a long term benefit. The power of the fossils has been borken, a few of them just don't realize or accept it yet.

Its a slow painful process but it is happening thank god.

But again, open carry makes you a target for those that want to do harm.

See, that's understandable from a tactical perspective.

However, open carry also broadcasts that someone is willing and able to protect themselves, and is a good deterrent against drunk assholes or grabby perverts for women.

That is also very true, but one needs to understand if they know where you have it they can prevent you from getting at it if they are motivated to do it.

But yes I get your point and it works for that
