Britain Sir David Amess, MP for Southend West, has been assassinated

The police believe it was a terrorist act and are looking into potential links with Islamic extremism.

A few days ago, Her Majesty agreed to make Southend (Sir Amess's constituency) a city. This was something Sir Amess was incredibly passionate about, if not his life's work. I feel there are far worse ways to honour a man. Indeed, by this, his legacy will be a long reaching one indeed.

Indeed. It's a bit of a late update, but the man under arrest is called Ali Harbi Ali, a twenty-five year old son of Somalian immigrants, and this was in the name of Allah.

Sometimes I do wonder whether or not "diversity" was worth it.
