You should note, importantly, that I did not actually say you were advocating for a bow as a defensive weapon, you broached the subject of bows for self defense based on the picture, I was only adding to that topic you'd opened up. A reply can be in parallel to the post it's quoting, you know.Yeah like I said in my post, it was referenced in a movie and so I brought it up in direct reference to CZena's statement about bows and arrows in a hyperbolic fashion and then used that presence of a weapon as a setup or segway into the next point which was a quip about walking about with a plethora of hand axes.
As for the film, while I'm not sure what the open carry / brandishment laws in NYC say about carrying a bow, it did at least make sense in the film, considering it was people throwing things at him and not like, committed attacks, so presumably they were worried he'd "throw something" back.
Then again he changed networks so maybe it's just the smaller network weathermen that get bullied in that universe.
Then they make laws to try and limit having or carrying sharp objects around....gonna be a waste of tax money to try and even do that
In the end, there is no implementable way to actually disarm the populace of a first world country. Anyone with access to a hardware store can build a single shot weapon, anyone with access to some basic machining equipment can make a Luty or revolver.Weird, but I’d like to point out how an axe and so many other things that could be used as weapons can be banned on the basis of them being dangerous and stuff
Take away their guns, then proceed to take away the “more civilized way” and then proceed to ban martial arts
I think for the last, if you’ve got a certain belt level, you’re considered “armed”
