Saderan Empire settle Kobol 40 years before Boomer and Crashdown jump to it.

As the tin says, instead opening into Ginza, the Imperial Army opens into Kobol. Aside from wondering who built all these ruins and deciding whoever they were most surely greatly offended the Gods, they form a Colony.

After a short while Rory Mercury decides to move to Kobol to get away from Hardy and be sole Goddess over Kobol.

On the day of her ascension as Rory rises into the sky before both an adoring crowd and people cheering because they don't want to be on her bad side, Boomer and Crashdown jump in and nearly go splat on the atmosphere because Gaeta cut the calculation a little close.

Here thus is the scenario.

Boomer and Crashdown after their jolt and cursing Gaeta start to realize they are looking at a habitable planet with a clear city with satellite villages and farms radiating from it.

Rory has ascended to full Goddess form and generally frowns on anyone looking to nuke her worshippers.

The Saderan Colony has Prince Diablo, now age 60 ruling it on behalf of his grand nephew Emperor Molt II, with Duchess Panache as his wife. The Colony has 400,000 people, 100,000 living in the city built over the ruins of the Kobolian Capital, 80,000 living in 25 satellite villages, and the rest running single family farmsteads. 150,000 are citizens, the rest are demihuman slaves.

The gate leads to Alnus and the larger Saderan Empire.

How does this alter the 2nd Cylon War?

It depends on if Boomer still realizes this is Kobol, or if the Saderan colony causes her to miss recognizing it.

Also, it depends on if Rory ever found the Tomb of Athena.

Because Rory is powerful, but even if she can regen, her followers are still meatbags, and Cylons would probably nuke the colony as soon as they see it.

And remember, the Cylons were there by the time the ground recon time headed out.

This entire thing will force Galactica to fight and defend the planet. Which is exactly what the Cylons want. And those resources were nearly depleted from their escape from Caprica. Galactica has a bare minimal air wing, a weary crew on the brink of despair, minimal munitions and fuel. So unless Rory can do something Godly keeping the Cylons from bombarding her world....everyone is likely going to die to a massive Cylon assault.

Regards to nukes, the op kinda made it clear they're out. As it was, the Cylons only landed token forces on Kobol and never returned after the Basestar blew. And the show kinda implies there is some sort of anti-ressurection system that prevents souls from being recovered there.

Knowing the Cavils, they would be utterly perplexed and cautious before escalating further as he will want to know who these people are.

And given clear cities and settlements, Adama isn't going to wait. He will jump right in with Galactica, not send a survey team.

.that still leaves Galactica in her current condition with only 40 Vipers, which is bare minimum. 1 Battlestar with limited supplies, munitions and means to fight off a concerted Cylon attack. Even if she wins she'll take damage she can't likely repair in the field, lose people, expend munitions and supplies until there is nothing left. She'll be work down. And even I'd you add Pegasus, that doesn't change the eventual outcome.

The Sederans have nothing that can fight back effectively. So unless Rory has something that defend the planet or aid them...they're getting conquered and enslaved.
