She watched people burning down small businesses and defacing monuments for a year and those people were always forgiven as long as they said "Black Lives Matter."

Kids who screw up deserve a "time-out". Those two got the longest one possible. The older one also got lucky because she could have been tried as an adult with "life in prison" as the expected sentence.
I think they knew they would be easier to get the guilty on doing it this way
Under DC Law apparently 13 year olds can't be tried as adults.
And for the older minor it requires a higher burden of proof or whatever to try a minor as an adult rather then an actual adult.
For all that this is worth since they're getting out in a few years and it's a juvenile record so it won't stick the way a normal felony conviction will.
Seems like a good reason to change that law.
They are literally on video doing it.
