This song was considered alternate anthem of Yugoslavia

Do you see yourself as more of a Yugoslavist than a Slovenian, if I may? I would assume not, so it was just a point of interest, but Yugoslavia was a monarchy for a long time as a unified state so there'd be nothing incompatible with conservatism in principle. That makes me think of this anticommunist song from the Yugoslav War era which always struck me as very touching and sincere -- and shows just how totally bankrupt everyone thought communist was by the time it fell:

Tp paraphrase Putin (I think). Anyone who doesn't miss Yugoslavia has no heart, anyone who wants it back has no brain. There were many good sides of the country, but ultimately it was too dysfunctional to continue existing.

That sad moment when most things that come to mind for me with British songs is grand choirs and such. Alas, not all of it is.

I think he or someone in the Duma did say that about the USSR, but it itself is a paraphrase of an adage about liberals and conservatives dating back to the 19th century... Some sayings never go out of fashion because of how true they are.
