AUTHOR'S NOTE: This timeline is a continuation of 'The American Republic' Trilogy series!

    Prologue
    August 14, 1983
Somewhere over the skies of Austin, Texas
    c776-21.jpg

President Ronald Wilson Reagan was working on some last-minute notes of his speech while inside his state room aboard Air Force One as he was heading to an informal meeting with Mexican President General Oscar Robles in La Paz, Mexico. His approval ratings were on the upswing and his reelection prospects in 1984 were very, very excellent, so strong that Democratic rivals ranging from Texas Governor Mark W. White (D), New York State Governor Mario Cuomo (D), United States Senator John Glenn (D-OH), United States Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-MA) and many others, but some of whom chickened out due to the fear of getting destroyed by Reagan in a potential 1984 match-up.

As Reagan was making plans for his upcoming tour of Japan, Republic of Korea and the Philippines in the fall of 1983, there was someone lurking and stalking the President. Nobody thought of it because they thought it was some "random bored jock". But this wasn't a typical jock, it was someone, who was determined to rock the American psyche and alter the 1980s with deadlier consequences considering there was a Cold War going on between two superpowers.....

This was called: The 11.13.83 Incident!

Good evening folks. This timeline will be one of those thrillers with conspiracy theories and International ramifications.

It'll also be including lots of PoV's from range cast of characters. Plus your typical damsels in distress with super erotic escapades in some foreign country.

I've been intrigued by some timelines ranging from Talk Elections, AH and Sietch such as The Liberal Republic, The Cursed American Presidency and Bicentennial Man, etc.,

This timeline will be quite LONG and lengthy. Enjoy 😎

Chapter 1: Julia plots to up the ante even further
    Saturday, October 21, 1983
    Outskirts of Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Sipping on a cup of coffee in the outskirts of Baton Rouge, Julia Gallardo was reading a book while listening some jazz music on the radio. She had been thinking about sending a message for awhile.

"That gullible jackass cowboy of a President thinks he's all that. I'll show his ass. I got away so easily with killing one Yankee head of state, I'll do it again." She was referencing of being the second shooter in the assassination of then-US President Gerald Ford on September 5, 1975 in Sacramento when she flashed back to pulling the trigger from her sniper. Smiling at that moment, she gleefully said to herself "I've got big plans for the General" in reference to Chilean President General Augusto Pinochet. That plan was going to be revealed in a few years from now (more on that in Chapter 5).

Julia had help with a group of assassins who had been involved in targeting other foreign heads of state for assassination such as the near assassination attempt of then-Argentine Republic President Leopoldo Galitieri back in the fall of 1981 when a bomb exploded under his limousine following a meeting at the Casa Rosada; she was also involved in other incidents: the bombing of Singaporean Parliament building when they almost succeeded in an attempt to assassinate Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew back in 1982.

Watching television on NBC affiliate WVLA-TV Baton Rouge, Julia learned about President Reagan's trip to Japan (November 9-12, 1983), Republic of Korea (November 12-14, 1983) and the Philippines (November 14-18, 1983). "That Yankee cowboy is going to Seoul huh? I've got some juicy surprises for that jackass!"

Diary from the outskirts of Sao Paulo
    2:05 PM BST, Friday, October 27, 1983
Somewhere in the outskirts of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

"It was a mild hot day here in the outskirts of Sao Paulo. I was tired and driving back home from working late over the entire week so I got home and before I could lay on the couch, the phone rang "Hello" I said. Julia was on the line and I heard her say the following: "It's a go! We're all set." I tried to wonder what was she talking about, "Like to know what's the purpose of this phone call and why do you sound so aggressive?"

Julia responded "Delaguier. Everything is all set and I've got the perfect place on where we'll launch our attack. You don't want anything to happen to your precious family, who might have some accident?" I was enraged at her threats and snapped "You don't tell me what to do anymore. I thought after the Roldos job that this mission was finished?"

She laughed on the phone suggesting I was mistaken. Julia continued her intimidating threats such as "How are your five daughters doing?" And I tried to hold my composure when she went further "If you don't follow my orders, I've got a sniper who's ready to shoot you on the spot" when I noticed a red dot at my chest. Scared of what might happen, "One more black-op job and I am done with the likes of you."

Satisfied, Julia gave me details on when to arrive in the days ahead of early November. She didn't give me any further details, but I had no choice but to follow orders considering Julia was cookng up another espionage mission after this proposed hit. I knew what would happen after this mission, the entire world would be on the precipice of nuclear holocaust."

    The Gipper arrives in Tokyo
    2:15 PM JST, Wednesday, November 9, 1983
    Akasaka Palace, Tokyo, Japan
    c18185-18.jpg

November 9, 1983: US President Ronald Reagan reviewing the troops at Akasaka Palace in Tokyo as cheering crowds waving American and Japanese flags are excited.

Upon departing Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska via Air Force One, President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan were accompanied by US Secretary of State George P. Shultz, White House Chief of Staff James A. Baker, III, Counselor to the President, Edwin Meese, III including many others accompanying the Reagan's on this trip. In order to minimize jet lag problems, most of the passengers slept for six hours. Some couldn't do it, due to the uncertainty of the jet lag, choosing to sleep for a few hours.

Once Air Force One arrived at the Haneda Airport, the Reagan's were greeted to a cheering crowd. Twelve minutes later, Marine One left Haneda Airport for the Landing Zone at Akasaka Palace; upon leaving Marine One and getting into the presidential limousine, the Reagan's and those accompanying them left the Landing Zone via motorcade, finally arriving at the palace. The members of the Imperial Japanese Royal Family and other dignitaries were in attendance at the Welcoming Honors Ceremony for President Reagan, who was dressed in a clam hammer morning suit, where the Reagan's were greeted by Emperor Hirohito. Following the National Anthems of the United States and Japan, President Reagan then reviewed the troops. This was an amazing moment.

While everyone was excited on the grounds of Akasaka Palace, across town, Julia Gallardo and her group of mercenaries were plotting their next mission: Republic of Korea (which was were President Reagan was heading next on this trip). It was unknown where the attack would take place, but this was going to have major ramifications once it occurred (more on that in Chapter 2).

Once the festivities were finished, President Reagan and Emperor Hirohito held a formal meeting at the Imperial Palace. Following this, President Reagan then went back to Akasaka Palace meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone. The day ended with a State Banquet at the Imperial Palace hosted by Emperor Hirohito. Having crossed the international date line was one of those funny sensations because it was a Wednesday and it was also the same day the Reagan's had left Washington, DC.

Does this alt-history cover what could be called past events in the Clinton gets assassinated one you're also doing?
This timeline will be the premises of the chaotic start of events that will result in the Clinton assassination 13 years later.

Slowly working on the opening chapters and doing lots of research. I've been inspired by timelines such as The Long National Nightmare of AH, April 28th, 2014: The Day Chaos Struck (written by my cousin @49ersfootball) on Sietch, and the Liberal Republic of Talk Elections.

Personal PoV's: That Polish Argentinian Woman
    7:52 PM, Wednesday, November 9, 1983
Somewhere in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

At one of the beaches in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, there was a beautiful woman of Polish and Argentinian descent with a sexy seductive Polish-speaking accent. She had been conniving with a group of mercenaries over the past few months or the past two years since mid-March 1981.

Olivia Ibanez, 22, was masquerading as a typical Polish tourist having moved to Rio less than two years ago. In reality, Olivia was conniving with Julia and her group of mercenaries in plotting to wreak havoc across the world: participating in assassinations, bombing attacks, espionage, etc.,

After finishing up coordinance, Olivia decided it was good time to enjoy a long vacation because Julia wanted her to remain in Brazil and put together coordinance plan on "the Pinochet problem" in Chile because Julia had obvious reasons on getting even with the authoritarian dictatorship of Chilean President General Augusto Pinochet.

"What a glorious night to enjoy some beach life at night" Olivia happily said to herself. Besides her native Polish, she was strongly fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Tagalog and Korean. She had noticed someone stalking her lately, "Who in the fuck is stalking me?"

After Olivia was leaving the beach and heading to the showers, the perceived stalker, a Brazilian federal agent noticed some intriguing footsteps because he was curious as to why she was on the beach this late at night and continued walking by following the footprints, when he entered the bathroom in order to check things out..... Olivia (who was naked and barefoot) came from behind and violently murdered the nosy Brazilian federal agent by ripping out his entire throat causing blood to gush everywhere and all over her.

Once she shoved the dead Brazilian federal agent's body into the vehicle somewhere in the underground parking lot, Olivia exhaled "That's what you get for being so damn nosy" before cussing in her native Polish. She then proceeded back to the bathroom and took a long shower washing all of the blood off of her naked body. Leaving the shower wearing only a towel, Olivia got onto the bed and called Julia, who was in Republic of Korea, "Hello Olivia. What's taking you so long to call me?" Olivia explained the situation: "I had to dispose some nosy federal agent who was stalking me and dumped his body somewhere." Julia sympathized with Olivia stating "You had to do what you needed do in order to focus on our mission."

While Olivia was asleep, a group of partygoers stumbled upon the mutilated dead Brazilian federal agent's body in the trunk of one of their vehicles causing one woman to scream horribly at the graphic sight of what she witnessed having opened the trunk as she was planning on placing her jacket in the trunk.

BREAKING NEWS ALERT: UNITED STATES SENATOR DOLPH BRISCOE (D-TX) NOT SEEKING FULL 6-YEAR TERM IN 1984; DETAILS COMING IN......

    med_res

*Wednesday, November 9, 1983: In one of the biggest political bombshells with huge implications for Texas politics came when United States Senator Dolph Briscoe (D-TX) announced during a press conference inside the Texas House of Representatives chambers of the Texas State Capitol in Austin, that following much thought, prayers and discussion with his family, he wouldn't seek reelection to a full six-year term in 1984.

Briscoe, 60, had served in the Texas House of Representatives from 1949 to 1957 before venturing into the cattle and ranching business in his hometown of Uvalde; he also served as president of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. He was also the owner and manager of one of the most diverse ranches in Texas. By 1972, he was the state's largest individual landowner.

Upon graduating from the University of Texas in 1943 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Briscoe served in the United States Army during World War II; serving in the China-Burma-India theater and advanced in rank to become commissioed officer with the rank of Second Lieutenant.

In 1968, Briscoe ran unsuccessfully for the Governorship placing fourth in the Democratic primary during an attempt to reenter the political arena. Four years later in 1972 once state government was rocked with the Sharpstown Scandal, Briscoe was successful in his second attempt to win the Texas Governor's Mansion and defeated State Senator Henry Grover (R-Houston) and Ramsey Muniz of La Raza Unida in a three-way race (47%-44%-66%) and served as Texas' 41st Governor from January 16, 1973 to January 16, 1979. During his six years in the Texas Governor's Mansion, the state's population and commerce boomed.

He led a number of landmark achievements, including the most extensive ethics and financial disclosure bill in state history, passage of the Open Meetings and Open Records legislation, and strengthened laws requiring lobbyists. Under his watch, Briscoe presided over the state's revision of the penal code in 100 years. Plus, Briscoe appointed a large number of women and minorities than any previous administration, and appointed the first African American members to state boards and appointed the first African American district judge; he also appointed his protege then-Texas Secretary of State Mark W. White, Jr., as United States Senator in the Spring of 1977 upon the resignation of then-United States Senator John G. Tower (R-TX) , who became US Secretary of Defense under then-President Nelson Rockefeller. Easily benefiting in a Blue wave in the backlash against the Watergate Scandal, Briscoe was overwhelmingly reelected in 1974 with 61% of the statewide vote carrying 249 out of 254 counties, taking office for the first four-year term on January 21, 1975.

Following a stunning upset loss to then-Texas State Attorney General John Hill (D) in the June 4, 1978 Democratic gubernatorial primary runoff election, Briscoe refused to campaign for Hill which resulted in the election of former US Defense Secretary William P. Clements, Jr., (R) in that November becoming the first Republican to occupy the Texas Governor's Mansion since Reconstruction on January 16, 1979.

Many political experts assumed Briscoe's political career was over after that primary defeat in 1978. However, Governor White (who defeated Clements in 1982) appointed Briscoe to his vacant US Senate seat on January 18, 1983. The appointment to serve in the United States Senate was a huge lifeline to Briscoe's political career and he easily won a special election in June 1983 with 70% of the statewide vote carrying sweeping all 254 counties.

During his time in the United States Senate, Briscoe voted for the Martin Luther King Jr., Holiday; staunchly supported the Reagan administration's policies on foreign policy and national defense. Briscoe co-sponsored legislation of new strategic military policy developing futuristic weapons that could destroy enemy nuclear weapons in flight before they hit targets. He also worked hard in bringing major key projects to Texas including federal natural disater relief from Hurricane Alicia where he took a helicopter tour of the damage across the Lone Star State; acquired educational design projects helping majority of the state's colleges and universities.

"It has been an honor serving the people of Texas from the Texas State Legislature, the Governor's Mansion and given the honor of serving all Texans in the United States Senate. It was a difficult decision to step away, but I believe the next generation of leaders are ready to pick up from where we left off." Reports circulated State Senator Lloyd Doggett (D-Austin), former US Ambassador to Mexico Bob Krueger , US Rep. Kent Hance (D-TX) and countless others are considering launching campaigns.

BREAKING NEWS ALERT: DOGGETT ANNOUNCES HE'S RUNNING FOR THE UNITED STATES SENATE IN 1984
*Wednesday, November 9, 1983: State Senator Lloyd Doggett (D-Austin) announced he was running for the United States Senate in 1984 setting up a crowded primary with former US Ambassador to Mexico Bob Krueger and US Rep. Kent Hance (D-TX) in the Democratic primary set for May 5, 1984.

Oddsmakers consider Doggett a longshot of winning the open US Senate seat vacated by United States Senator Dolph Briscoe (D-TX) ,who'll be stepping down after not seeking a full six-year term in 1984.

BARRIENTOS RUNNING FOR TEXAS STATE SENATE
*Due to Doggett vacating his seat in the Texas State Senate after 12 years, State Rep. Gonzalo Barrientos (D-Austin) announced he will be running for the open State Senate seat from District 14 in 1984. Barrientos has served in the Texas House of Representatives since 1975.

US Ambassador to Japan Mike Mansfield

Mike Mansfield had a long breath of experience ranging from serving in the US House of Representatives representing Montana's 1st Congressional District for five consecutive two-year terms from 1943 to 1953 when he was elected to statewide office by winning election to the United States Senate in 1952 narrowly defeating Republican incumbent Zales Ecton (50% to 48%) and was reelected in 1958 with 76%, 1964 with 64% and again in 1970 with 60%. During his 24 years in the United States Senate, Mansfield held many stints such as chairing the Committee on Rules and Administration, Select Committee on Secret and Confidential Documents, Special Committee on Secret and Confidential Documents; he also served as Senate Majority Whip from 1957 to 1961 and then becoming Senate Majority Leader from 1961 to 1977.

Following his retirement from the United States Senate in 1977 when he chose not to seek reelection to a fifth term in 1976, Mansfield was appointed to serve as US Ambassador to Japan by then-President Nelson Rockefeller (which Mansfield was confirmed by a vote of 100-0) and had been serving in this role since June 10, 1977 under Presidents Rockefeller, Holton and Reagan. While serving in Japan, Mansfield was highly respected and was particularly renowned for his hardworking efforts in making the US-Japan relationship prosper to greater heights including making it "the most important bilateral relationship in the world, bar none." He also fostered relationships between his home state of Montana and Japan, which led to a great and beneficial trade relationship.

Having attended the welcoming honors ceremony for President Reagan at the Akasaka Palace and meeting with Emperor Hirohito and other dignitaries, Mansfield went back to the Ambassador's Residence. "It's great to see President Reagan here in Japan highlighting the importance of the relationship between the United States and Japan because it's very important the Asian Pacific is peaceful and no crazy business is going on."

While Mansfield was working on heavy loads of paperwork and attending meetings, across town there was a femme fatale, who was stalking the President's every moves and even reading his itinerary while contacting Julia on the latest updates before making their grand attack in a few days when Reagan would be in the Republic of Korea (it wasn't known which venue the attack would take place).
