NHL/Other Hockey Leagues Discussion Thread

A question on NHL very early history.
My reading of the wiki points to the "original six" playing one another FOURTEEN times per [regular] season.
Is this correct?
If yes - wasn't that BORING?
It depends ...

For casual spectators? Not really. There weren't as many entertainment options back then and it didn't really matter which team was visiting ... much like today.

The diehard fans, OTOH? There wasn't much variation in the standings from season-to-season. They could usually guess three of the four playoff teams before the season started because the other three were basically playing for the fourth spot. I imagine that got old.

MLB at the time? 22 games v. everyone in your league with only the best from each playing in the World Series.
