Well, an example from Poland's backyard. What do you think it is?
A church. We have one similar abortion in Solin over here.

You guys were better off with cathedralsA church. We have one similar abortion in Solin over here.
Indeed, so not people at all.it was built by communists.
I find that we're all better off with cathedrals. You guys were better off with cathedrals
Because up close, from a distance it looks like a lemon squeezer
And this thing, is supposed to be a Catholic church. More specifically, the Church of the Divine Providence in Wilanów, a 'prestigious' district of Warsaw.
I think you mean gothic cathedrals, because this:I find that we're all better off with cathedrals.
Who expects their kids to live with them? Only the 3rd worlders.
Heck, I live real close to my Dad, too.I still live with my parents and we're not of Third World origin!
Heck, I live real close to my Dad, too.
It's still really unusual, these days. Means nobody has much connections.

Ok, I agree, over all.
After all, who thinks of passing their home to their kids? Who expects their kids to live with them? Only the 3rd worlders.
Yup.The idea that we should kick our kids out of the house as soon as we can is fucking stupid. Throughout most of history, children lived in thier parents homes until they were ready to form thier own household and contributed their income to the household income. It reduces debt, stabilises families and builds wealth.
Yup.
But kids were working, contributing, from a young age. Marrying younger, too. Very different mindspace.
I wonder how much we sacrifice by having everybody in school till 18?

I leaned vastly more outside of school, than in. Merely being interested in something, and asking about it found me learning so much more that I did in classrooms.Freddie DeBoer actually supports allowing kids, especially dull kids, to drop out of school as young as 12. I don't know how I feel about that since even dullards could benefit from becoming a little bit more worldly.
One could argue that that’s one of the main problems of western culture nowadays. Men and women move out from their parents home, often hours if not full days away from their familial connections. Leaving them either alone or only with their partner to rely on instead of a network of parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
This makes many people, especially people in the younger generations, vulnerable to ever more radical ideas. Especially if they went through the public education system and were, for lack of better word, primed to find leftist ideals acceptable.
The wisdom and experience of the previous generations is abandoned and the dogma of college professors and politicians is accepted in their place.
The disintegration of the familial unit and the atomization of the individual is what has aided in the destruction of western culture.
Ultimately, something is going to have to give eventually.

I suspect that contributing might change the whole mental paradime for many, many people. Impotance is terrible for the human mind.
None of which explains why people build the ugly things they do.
I would NOT want to live there.
The ones I really wonder about are the ones that say they like the old commie brutalist style.
Yeah, while the Empire State Building cannot exactly hold a candle to older architecture, it still looks outright beautiful compared to basically everything that came after it.
I had this conversation with a former tenant of mine once and her argument was basically "I get over stimulated in pretty houses with a lot of stuff hanging on walls and carpets and walls with colors. It's too much and it makes me think and houses aren't for thinking they're for vegetating"
Younger Millennials and Zoomers seem to be brainwashed to accept bland, ugly, sterile shit that they literally get anxious around beauty. Because beauty makes them feel inspired and you're not supposed to feel that way.
Forget cattle mentality, even fucking cows need pretty pictures on the walls of their Barnes
