Asia-Pacific Kim Jong-Un reported dead or near death

The oddest part about this speculation is how willing people were to say "Kim is still alive" based on movements of his personal train or other observable routines that were labeled "not out of the ordinary". You don't think the DPRK is capable of maintaining their day-to-day facade on the outside while they panic behind the scenes? But this is modern "journalism", they only second-guess when permitted.

Has Little Rocketman blasted off?

Rumors continue to swirl around the status of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. It is said that he grabbed at his chest and fell during a visit to the countryside. He was rushed to surgery and his doctor attempted to install a stent to help bring blood to his heart, but he had difficulty due to his great fear and shaking hands as well as the fact that his Dear Leader was extremely corpulent. What confuses me is why would any of that matter if the stent was delivered via an artery in the arm?

Regardless, it would be surprising if Kim Jong Un is really dead considering he’s only 37. On the other hand, he apparently ate a lot of fatty, rich foods and he had gained a tremendous lot of weight for his size. He did this as a lot of his subjects starved. He was also a heavy smoker. Still, one would think he would receive the best medical care available to him.

There is a rumor that the brutal tyrant fell into a vegetative state after the botched procedure. Some say he’s dead. Some, like South Korea, insist he’s alive and well. The hermit nation is very secretive, so it’s difficult to know what’s going on for sure, but the round man’s sister, Kim Yo Jong, is said to be next in line. She already has a reputation for ruthlessness and could probably replace Rocketman and carry on with his policies without missing a beat.

Why does all this matter? If the military or others challenge the sister, then uncertainty and conflict that could arise, which could turn into a cold war that could quickly morph into a hot one. North Korea is rich in resources that China desires. The US does not want to see China gain a firmer foothold on the troubled peninsula. Neither does Japan.

To be fair given how the news that he might be dead came from anonymous sources telling the mainstream media, given how badly they have lied over the past few years what reason would anyone have to believe it.

Apparently he's still alive - or is he?
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un made his first public appearance since speculation about his health began last month, cutting the ribbon at the opening of a fertilizer factory, North Korea’s state news agency reported on Saturday.

Kim “attended the ceremony” on Friday and “all the participants broke into thunderous cheers of ‘hurrah!'” when he appeared, the Korean Central News Agency said.

He also inspected the facility and was “briefed about the production processes,” the report said.
North Korean state radio said Kim on Friday attended the completion ceremony for a phosphate fertilizer plant in Sunchon, a city about 50 kilometers north of the capital, Pyongyang.

State media did not immediately publish a photo or video of Kim, who was reportedly accompanied at the ceremony by his sister, Kim Yo Jong, and other senior leaders.

The fact that we just got a radio report with no visual confirmation makes this super suspicious, even though there's plausible explanations for a delay when there's a fertilizer plant involved.

I wouldn't be disappointed yet it's very odd that there's been no visual confirmation of him being alive. but i'm probably grasping for straws.

I want to say something then realize I cant.

I hate my job at times like this.

But the south korwam government has said multiple times he is alive.

For resources, two things
1. A supply of cheap labor... read slave labor
2. An existing labor camp system that would serve as a deniable asset for the chinese, because every time theirs gets exposed it is embarrassing.

What about minerals and farmland?

Also, I think on Reddit, tankies are currently praising North Korea

So a PR Bonus?
