I expected them to at least wait until the news cycle ended to punt all the visitors when no one was looking. This was kind of sad.
They are the elites. They don't care about the looks, only about their own comfort. Part of that involves not having to look at foreigners.

Well crap...I don't know if this is the right thread for this but what the hell. My daughter is a police officer at a suburban police department. She just found out on Friday that she was a diversity hire. HR apparently raised a stink about not having enough (any) minorities. So when my daughter ( who is black) applied they pushed her to the head of the line and hired her. My daughter is not incompetent. She was an experienced officer from another department. She also has 2 masters degrees. She's devoted to her job and has worked hard to get where she is. To say she's livid (and humiliated) is an understatement.😢

Sounds like the Department got a deal getting an Officer with two masters and prior job experience and is a hard worker. I can see how it'd be humiliating but you just gotta do the best job you can do. Just because she was pushed to the head of the line of applicants doesn't destroy what she's achieved and attained and earned and it's not like everyone else in the world is their own sovereign citizen, got no help from anyone and had no benefit in connections, networking, or just simple good fortune.
The point, though, is one I've states myself, which is that affirmative action and the mentality behind it is actually harmful to minorities. Her daughter should not have needed it and should have succeeded on her own merit. Her daughter has the right mentality, too, in that she actually believes in succeeding on merit. So many today are all about using their minority status to get by, and the social justice mentality is that merit is a white supremacist attitude, and that non-whites can't be expected to be able to compete on merit, therefore they should just be handed whatever they want. Of course, they probably wouldn't want to be a cop anyway.

I was told to my face by a female HR person, younger than me and we were in Vermont so super 'liberal' state and she was college educated, that I was hired because I was male and the old ladies in the deli needed a strong man to help them with some things.
