Did Section 31 do these sort of things in canon? I remember them doing some pretty shady things in the show but most of that was more "unfortunate but necessary" stuff instead of a toned down 1984.

I never got into the supplemental materials so I could be missing something.

'Resocialization camps' were mentioned as far back as TOS, actually. The Trouble with Tribbles, to be specific, and while it was only mentioned in passing, just the very notion they actually send people to camps to be 'resocialized' has red flags going up in my head. Literally, in fact: it sounds a whole lot like what China does to people who ask too many questions, and who come back denying they ever questioned the great and glorious leadership of the People's Republic while singing the praises of their most enlightened society.

And IIRC, they were again mentioned in passing in TNG, though I can't quite remember in which episode it takes place.

A morass of lies, justifications and propaganda. That's the Federation. And if the Empire broadcast this it will be called conspiracy theories, lies and propaganda.

Why limit themselves to simple broadcasts?

Did the Enterprise survive the Battle of Mars?

Who knows? All will be revealed in time.

The drumhead episode where Picard defends an Ensign who had a Romulan father?

I'm not sure, I'll watch the episode again when I have the time.

Picard can only die when Q finally gets something through that skull of his

Well, that might not be far off coming. The Empire's basically taking a crowbar to all the locked closets they've stumbled on, causing skeletons to fall out. So much, in fact, that the ISB is getting buried in all the dusty old bones that spill out. Meanwhile, the good admiral is having to come up with more and more plans as building the peace turns out to be increasingly more complicated than she expected.

Back to Picard, he's going to have a lot to come to terms with once the Empire starts carting out all those bones and piling them up in the Sun.

Are you using discovery in any way? Probably not so much since Michael Burnham hasn't shown up to stop you and save the federation single handedly

No. STD is a cancer - on top of being, well, a STD - on the Star Trek franchise. I'd sooner accept the Disney canon than have anything to do with STD.

OR...can you bring her in so that the Empire can throw her into Sol?

That's still too much of STD.

The isb are going to need a lot of Coffe wont they now to go throught all those files.

Well, look on the bright side. The ISB gets a chance to be the good guys for once, by forcing the Terrans and the rest of the Federation's dupes to pull their heads out of the sand, and to take a real good look at reality. And once they finally get real, they can stop acting like stiffs walking into the Blue Oyster Bar, and instead become MEN OF DESTINY.

Sisko is a prophet as per the canon ending of DS9...which means like the rest of his kind, he has very strict rules when it comes to interfering. IIRC, it boils down to 'knowing the future but it's not their place to shape it' or something like that. I mean, sure, they did nuke that Dominion Fleet when it tried to pass through the wormhole, but I suspect that one was a loophole, considering they were trespassing on the Prophets' home.

Civilian perspective...I'll see what I can do. As for business in the future...

...okay, the Empire is explicitly a capitalist state, so it shouldn't be a spoiler. Leia at one point even explicitly states that the Empire used economic prosperity or at least stability as an excuse/justification for its rule, but at the expense of political liberty. So, yeah, sooner or later, the Empire is going to incentivize free enterprise if not outright jumpstart it. The Orions are just the first capitalist local species/civilization to suddenly want to be friends with the Empire.

If nothing else, the Ferengi would have Latinum for eyes once they realize the Empire's all for good business.
