Let's see...honestly I could see Geoff being voted off the next time the Bass loses. His pining for Bridgette, though motivating can also compromise his judgement and cost them a challenge, depending on what it is.

For the Gophers, it's Beth. Heather does not strike me as the person to allow betrayal to go unpunished so if the Gopher's lose, again, Heather will do everything in her power to get rid of Beth.

Also, Jason is absolutely out of there once the teams get mixed. He's too awesome dangerous to be left in the competition. Unless someone outshines him multiple challenges in a row.

Geoff's thing with Bridgette is very much a toss up. Very much depends on the challenge. Harold is also on the line because of him not really having any allies on his team, not the best at challenges at times and just bad habits.

You would first think Beth but if Beth can gather a few people like Gwen maybe she can save herself. Then there is the possibility of another player on the team just messing up big time or just not contributing to the challenges.

There are ways for Jason to stay in the game without winning challenges. Alliances come to mind and having people liking him to a degree so they hesitate to vote him. There is the ally with other strong players plan. Not to mention other people will have their own plans or alliances officially or unofficially.

I forgot about Harold. He's so meh that I couldn't think of a reason people wouldn't vote for him beyond getting a quality of life buff.

I don't think she can gather enough people. Not enough people dislike Heather yet (I could be wrong) and in her wrath, she could turn a number of people off.

Yes, but alliances are hollow because the best way to gain immunity is to complete challenges and...well, actually. If Jason can keep up enough of a winning streak, he could just win immunity from round to round.

I love Harold but not a lot of people like him in story. Then there is him arguable their worst player in challenges.

I don't think she can gather enough people. Not enough people dislike Heather yet (I could be wrong) and in her wrath, she could turn a number of people off.

Leshawna and Heather just had a big fight to the point it had to be between the two of them. Obviously some people didn't like that Leshawna got voted for personal and in game reasons. Beth might not be able to gather people but Gwen can. And it doesn't have to be Heather they vote off to hurt Heather. Lindsay or Justin can hurt Heather just as much because her needing them.

Alliances aren't hollow as you might think. Alliances can come from personal reasons or in game reasons. Then you got to remember not everyone is that good at the strategy game. Votes are very important in game like this. So having alliances can be very important when you don't win a challenge. Best example I can think of is Heather.

Some later challenges are also not voting based elimination challenges and instead elimination to the person that comes last in the 2nd half of the season

Saw the next episode and I got to say....things aren't looking good for the Gophers. Especially with the way they are right now.

Heather is starting to get paranoid of Jason so if she saw Jason and Owen talking(maybe even joking around or helping Owen from the bee stings. Poor Owen.) and then later Owen eating the ribs.....Yeah she'll think either Jason convinced him or made a comment that tempted him. If this does happen Heather might just be angry enough to vote Owen off. And it did seem like Owen didn't really eat anything until the ribs. Then there is the possibility that Heather watching Jason could effect the food being made.

Then we got Beth. Who will just be difficult for Heather and maybe even do something to Heather. Apparently the first dish was a nine out of ten(somehow). With Justin helping not sure(don't think he can cook at least not that well. All up to you really).

Owen and Trent were on ribs. Honestly they looked very good(got a two from just a little bit). Mostly put that on Owen possible cooking skills. Then there was Trent getting knocked out by Owen throwing a crate of oranges at him(Trent could vote Owen for that).

Gwen and Lindsay on the cake thing. Honestly I blame this not working on Lindsay and Heather. Lindsay because Lindsay. Heather because if she knew the recipe right than there shouldn't of been a problem with it and can see Heather being more focused on Jason.

Now let's look at the Bass team. Apparently the first and second dish got in total fifteen points so my guess is the first dish got seven while the second dish got a eight. Not sure how good Eva and Jason are at cooking so could go either way on gaining or losing points. DJ apparently can make pasta sauce so can see him helping with that. Hmmm is Geoff gonna try impressing Bridgette with this meal(weirdly seeing a picture of her at the table)?

Assuming all the placements are canon related and the new scenes added to this episode like Gwen and Jason. Whatever Beth decides to do. If Jason joins in the Harold pranking or not. Then the scenes I can't think about. Maybe Eva and Justin effecting things.
Okay, I finally had time to watch the episode, so here goes.
Yeah, Leshawna's interference won't happen since she's gone, but everything else? They are indeed in trouble.

Yeah, Heather will be watching Jason like a hawk since they'll both be in the same room for most of the challenge. Whether it affects the Gophers' cooking remains to be seen... On the one hand, she might not keep as tight a ship as a result, but on the other, she's also less likely to get locked in the freezer this time around, so she might be able to prevent Owen from eating the ribs. Things could end up better, worse, or about the same, really.

Beth may or may not do anything to Heather during the challenge. She wants her team to win the challenge, and she's not (currently) on bad terms with anyone but Heather, so she might cooperate just for the sake of the team. Between challenges, though? Yeah, Beth would probably do something if she saw an opportunity to do so.

Yeah, unless Heather (or Justin, I suppose) stops Owen from eating the ribs, that part is likely to go much the same as in canon. We'll see, though.

Oh, yeah, the flambé. As far as I could tell, the cake got ruined because Gwen and Lindsay put waaaaay too much flambé liquid on it, with Heather not realizing they had done so. No idea if that'll go the same this time around or not, but it is fairly likely it will due to Heather focusing a lot of her attention on Jason and thus missing it just like she did in canon.

I've actually decided on a new theme for the Bass' part of the challenge, so the numbers will end up different. I won't spoil too much about that, though. And yes, Geoff probably will try to impress Bridgette during the meal in some way; the table setting is a likely candidate for that, but we'll see.

Yeah, I've only written like one scene so far, but it's likely that I will add a few scenes before the challenge with Jason helping Gwen search for the diary... and Heather trying to adjust her plans accordingly. Beth will also get involved... and Trent will have a few choice reactions to Jason and Gwen suddenly "hanging out all the time". The Harold thing... remains to be seen. There will at the very least be a few lines involving Eva and Justin, but at this stage I'm unsure how much their presence will change the challenge itself.

As for the conversation everyone's been having... Yeah, having overheard Heather, Lindsay and Beth in the previous challenge, Jason will start thinking about alliances and how those affect the voting. And yes, he will try to cement a few alliances of his own, though it remains to be seen whether any of that happens in the next chapter. There are some prime candidates, though, in the form of Eva and Duncan, and maybe Geoff and DJ, on the Bass, and later on (if they're still around) Gwen and Owen on the Gophers. All that's for the future, though.

Heather watching Jason during this challenge will distract her from certain things going on in her kitchen. Not expecting the freezer but her losing her eyebrows(which she will focus on), being distracted and just angry, something bad is gonna happen for the Gophers, Heather is about appearances for this challenge so with Owen bee stings she might just keep him in the kitchen where Chris doesn't need to look at Owen.

Yeah Beth might not do anything during the challenge with it maybe making them lose(and the chance of her getting voted off). Outside of challenges though? Oh the will be fair game far as Beth is concerned.

Owen really dropped the ball in this episode with the bee stings and eating almost all the ribs. Honestly I expect Justin to hand the food to Chris for appearances so Justin might not be able to stop Owen.

Ah it was a flambe. Well my point still kinda stands in my opinion. Lindsay working on it I expect her to do it twice still. Problem with this dish is most likely being too difficult and one of the people making it. With Heather distracted....yeah.

Oh a new theme? Well that is interesting. Now was it because of Jason or Geoff(my bet is Geoff)? Geoff could be trying to go all out on the dish so he can impress Bridgette and probably set the table very romantic like with a Bridgette picture(probably creepy for Bridgette).

The search begins!! Lets see where they look and how far they willing to search for the diary. Jason is going off someone took it so he might look at places people would try to hid a stolen book. Heather rethinking some plans because of Beth leaving the alliance. Now will Heather notice Gwen and Jason looking together? Oh Trent getting worried about Gwen hanging out with the tough dude that can sing (XD)?

Awesome that Jason is learning about alliances and the power of voting. If I can make a suggestion. I'd say Jason should get Eva in his alliance. Eva is pretty isolated(not really in a certain group on the team). So easy way to get a strong player on Jason's side and get a vote while still more people to get in the alliance. Personally would ask Geoff and DJ next because they are more honest and more willing to keep their word.

Be interesting if he tries to get Owen on his alliance. They're not on the same team now but the teams are going to merge after just a few more challenges and having a cross-team alliance would be pretty powerful.

If Owen and Gwen can make it to the merge then the play would be to ask them to team up. Not only making the alliance more powerful but also make the competition more likely to get voted off when they do votes. *CoughHeatherCoughLindsayCough* XD

Yeah, the freezer is unlikely to happen, but the rest is still very much a possibility.

Pretty much. As I mentioned I haven't gotten that far in the writing yet, but I'm hoping I can get in a scene or two during the days before the cooking challenge.

We'll see.

Oh, yeah, Lindsay is still very likely to screw up (assuming she was responsible in canon, which is likely), so unless someone catches her in the act...

That's a secret... for now.

Yup, Jason is going to at least assume Gwen is correct that it was stolen rather than just misplaced, so he'll go into it with that in mind and try to think of likely hiding places. Yes, Heather will notice Gwen and Jason searching, but it remains to be seen whether she'll try to do anything about it in chapter 10 or later (honestly, it largely depends on how long the chapter's looking to get once I get to that point; like, once I have added everything that needs to be in there just to follow the episode, how much room do I still have to add additional scenes? I try to aim for 5k-6k words per chapter if possible, with a few hundred up or down as appropriate). Although Gwen is (mostly) over her crush on Trent, Trent is definitely not over his crush on Gwen, so... yeah. The green-eyed monster has entered the chat, so to speak.

Oh, Eva is high up on Jason's list of potential allies, partly because he knows she's strong and determined, but also because they get along fairly well. Duncan as well.

Be interesting if he tries to get Owen on his alliance. They're not on the same team now but the teams are going to merge after just a few more challenges and having a cross-team alliance would be pretty powerful.
True, though at the moment Jason doesn't know the teams are going to eventually merge (he might suspect it if he sits down and thinks about it, though). Once he finds out or suspects it, Owen will be high on his list.

Ah the good old "you'll see" and "it's secret".Still looking forward to the next chapter.

Lindsay is Lindsay so I assume she is gonna mess the Flambe up. Then you got to consider Heather being distracted and possibly being too bossy.

Jason is going with Gwen's information and he is confident she isn't mistaken so places where people would hide stolen things. Ah the good old paranoia of Heather seeing Gwen and Jason together. Still waiting for the moment people see Heather keeps watching Jason and thinks she's into him(guessing DJ or Geoff noticing on the Bass). Oh Trent if he shows not liking Jason and Gwen hanging out. If Gwen had to pick between someone she used to like but doesn't like anymore or her friend that is trying to help her?.....Yeah sorry Trent your not winning.

Duncan is a good because they get along and it brings Courtney in too. Downside is eventually Duncan is gonna stick with Courtney instead of Jason. So both Eva and Duncan are good picks but Eva is a must in my opinion.

Can't reveal too much ahead of time, after all, or it won't be a surprise :p

Yeah, it's highly likely.

Oprah voice: "You get a misunderstanding, and you get a misunderstanding... everybody gets misunderstandings!" pretty much sums it all up, I'd say.
Yeah, if he had to pick a side Duncan would probably side with Courtney over Jason... It's gonna be quite a while before anything like that happens, though. Eva, while she gets along reasonably well with both Courtney and Duncan in this story, respects Jason far more and would side with him in a heartbeat if it came to that.

Not actually a good choice for those very reasons. Heather is doing this right by choosing the most useless (Of course, the bad choice makes for an interesting story). As any Survivor fan will tell you, always bring a goat along with you as your closest ally, because if you hall them to the end, you get an easier final competition, or an easy vote (in survivor).

Jason can pick both Eva and Duncan in the alliance. A strong four person alliance. Just gotta remember Duncan will eventually turn on Jason. There are ways to stop it. Like getting another person or two like Owen and Gwen in the alliance .

Eva has pros and cons. What you really want to do is bring someone you think will lose to you but the other person thinking they can win. Also if it came to a vote between Jason and Eva? Jason would win. Eva is strong but not exactly well liked by the majority.

I don't think it comes down to a vote though. It's a final competition. Eva would be an amazing ally in survivor, but a bad one here. She's who you want gone as soon as the tribes merge, or as soon as your alliance controls the vote if she's allied with you.

There is a vote but not for the winner I think. Not exactly sure.

If it was anyone else than Jason you'd be right. Jason is one of the few people that can beat Eva. Then there is benefits of keeping strong players when you are a strong player. If the argument is Eva is strong then it can easily be turned on Jason.

JasonSanjo

Yeah, from what little I remember of the final challenge (it has been a few years) Eva is one of the few people who can realistically compete with Jason in it. However, Jason doesn't have any meta-knowledge, and so doesn't know what lies ahead, nor is he overly familiar with reality shows.

Edit: He's seen a couple seasons of the original Expedition Robinson when it aired back in the late 90s, and of course Total Drama. With the former being twenty+ years ago and his memories of the latter sealed away by ROB, his practical knowledge of reality shows is rather limited.

I mean, it's still better to have no one able to compete with you than have it be a competition, so I don't like the strategy here.

But this is a very realistic reason he screws this up. I mean, people who don't know how a reality show works do stupid things, like the legendary Alphabet strategy, from season one of survivor.

In theory it is. At least for me and probably you. Problem with it is if your one of the strongest players like Jason then this can easily backfire on you if you don't win a challenge. Like what are the chances the rest of the challenges will favor Jason? Then you use the argument of voting someone off because they are strong can backfire on Jason easily. I'm making this strategy on Jason. If it was me? Oh my strategy would be something like yours but with my own flavor in the mix.

Edit: If Jason wants to get rid of strong players he'll need different reasons for the other players to vote for them without putting a target on his own back.

I've barely started on the next chapter, but just for fun I thought I'd post a little snippet... the very first scene:

Chris stood on the dock as he addressed the camera.

Last time, on Total Drama Island…”

Clips began rolling, showing scenes from the previous episode.

Our competitors became hunters and the hunted. Owen’s game was way off, like a real-life Elmer Fudd, while Jason channeled the spirit of Bugs Bunny and made the Gopher hunters’ lives miserable.

In a weird and strangely watchable twist, Beth finally stood up to Heather, who in a possibly misunderstood set of circumstances, ended up trading insults with Leshawna all the way to the bonfire.

In the end, it was sassy girl Leshawna who got sassed last, leaving Wawanakwa on the Boat of Losers.

Is the Gophers’ sudden string of bad luck the result of Beth’s lucky charm’ from Boney Island? Or is Jason really the villainous mastermind Heather thinks he is? Find out tonight, on Total. Drama. Island!”
