Greta Thunberg Against the Windmills

So anyway, a Norwegian court ordered that a group of windmills on traditional Sami reindeer herding lands should be shut down. The government responded by ignoring the order, because anyone that believes in modern projections about global warming and thinks windmills should be shut down for reindeer herders is a moron.

Of course, Greta Thunberg, Professional Attention Whore, is siding with the Sami and supporting the windmills being shut down. Lovely.

"A climate transition that violates human rights is not a climate transition worthy of the name and we must therefore stand up against the human rights violations that are happening here," the Swedish climate activist said.

Ah yes, Greta. I'm sure that the rising oceans, increasingly bad summers, worse hurricanes, and collapse of the ecosystem in certain parts of the world, I'm sure that all these cruel acts of mother nature care deeply about human rights.

And people wonder why the right doesn't take environmentalism seriously: because even environmentalists don't take it seriously.

Anyone who isn't radically pro-nuclear power and anti-consumerism is not a real environmentalist. Anyone who believes in making ridiculous compromises (fucking reindeer herding) is not a real environmentalist. I mean, sure, wind power is not the alternative some environmentalists think it is (neither is solar) but Greta isn't smart enough to know that so she can't use it as an excuse.

Honestly, it makes me sad: someone with Greta's platform could've done so much good. Too bad it was a poorly informed faux-activist.

Well, I rather think that the Sami should be free to follow their traditional way of life, and not have "the modern world" imposed on them if they don't want it.

The question is though: are they the ones objecting to the windmills, or is it busybody progressives who claim to speak for them?

The later and If they tried to bring up their own opinions said progressives would launch into hatefilled vitriol and you know it.

Honestly just counting the days until these people are treated in the same way they treated everyone else.

Did I even need to ask...

The thing is, literally every possible form of electric power generation would have some ecological impact, (as would not having electric power at all), so the greenies would always be able to find this or that excuse to object to everything.
Until we all just tell them to sit down and shut up.

When I clicked on this I was assuming that Greta Thunberg was criticizing windmills murdering birds and being hard to dispose of as waste and honestly, I would've given her credit for being honest about some of the known pitfalls of renewable energy but the issue here is that the reindeer are allegedly afraid of seeing and hearing windmills... 🤨

I'm no expert on Reindeer but that does sound like a pretty weaksauce reason.

I mean regular Deer are terrified of everything.

But despite the 'Deer in headlights' thing, I always see Deer politely waiting along the side of the road waiting for vehicles to cross before they prance over the road. Granted they are always jaywalking but it's a country road, forgivable. The thing is, sometimes animals can adapt... especially if they are being 'HERDED' by what I'm assuming are skilled Herders.

Maybe I'm completely wrong and Reindeer are like super sensitive to windmilling though.

Well, she needs to find a new grift, so why not AntiFa/the Commies? They're all the rage now, right?

She's a scion of family of leftist activist artists on cushy state salaries since her birth. Her fame started as part of her mom's activist side career. What did you expect?
I just wanna know why the Sami are allowed to oppose climate change mitigation in the first place. I mean, doesn't that make them transphobic racist Trump-supporting QAnon antivaxxers whose viewpoints should be automatically discarded?
Protected minority status, recognized by leftist institutions kind of it.
