As it turns out really hard to randomly get rid of major characters offscreen in SW. mind you the 1 Damm time it would have made sense to do so due to IRL stuff they chickened out and made the poor bastards writing Episode's 9s script use other stuff they had to make Leia a thing in the film. When they totally could have gone with the injuries she took from being in the void for awhile killed her when we had less medical facilities than the OG rebellion had.

The term "untimely filed" comes to mind. Given that the relief being demanded is to be recast on the show, waiting until over a year after the show has completed filming and been aired makes that relief both legally and practically moot.
