Always thought The Act Man was kind of a vanilla video game commentator, but he was pretty amusing in this podcast.

And that intro went in hard.



They talked about Fallout New Vegas, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, Metal Gear Solid and Black Myth Wukong. All of the casual racism when talking about Black Myth Wukong was great too.

Plus they talked about Hollow Earth, why Communism works, and Adolf Hitler's Struggle book. All quality content.

Not sure if this is going to make me actually be arsed in checking out the channel but, the podcast was very funny and I didn't know Act Man was so interesting.

Wow I didn't realize she was sixty three years old but I do agree it's unfortunate lonely gamer boys can't coom to barely legal senior citizens.

-The Glow is a letdown because it's far too easy to survive in there and there's nothing of value there anyways
-Combat sucks ass, every area is absolutely stuffed with enemies and the game doesn't realize that combat is a means to an end. Instead Fallout 4 acts like combat IS the end.
-Areas like the Dunwich Borers are a letdown compared to the original area in FO3
-The dialogue system was added expense, time, and effort for a system WORSE than earlier games
-Giving the player a voice is nonsensical when you don't play as a predefined character, except now that they're voiced and have default names, FO4 is technically not much of an RPG anymore, whoops?
-Settlement system gets in the way of the main quest
-Building the teleporter feels like a joke, something that is supposed to be this herculean task can be done in about 20 seconds
-Bottom third of the map has basically no quests or anything to do
-UI is complete shit, can't even sort items by type within a category, only alphabetical order
-Misc-items category is a joke because it quickly fills with far too much shit, can't even read notes without storing them in your inventory
-Story is dogshit, something as simple as Kellog's secret room makes no geometric sense. Dogmeat being part of the main story is dumb.
-Story introduces way too much Fallout 'memberberries far too early
-Can't reason with Kellog, combat is the only option despite him being a reasonable man who's boss is literally your relative
-Railroad are all mega-retards
-Game has too much focus on synths and if they're human or not. THIS WAS SOLVED IN THE PREVIOUS GAME IN A SIDEQUEST.
-Institute is retarded and their motivations is never explained or makes sense
-Player character's decisions has functionally no impact on the endings of the game
-The endings are all nonsensical because they involve killing countless innocent synths and institute nobodies
-Father thinks that synths are mindless soulless things, yet also demands you love the synth 'son' he made
-BUGS, SO MANY BUGS

Instead of picking dialog from a long list like gold old games did, you get 1 word hints as to what your dialog would be that might be very misleading.

I actually like the combat, easier to get the hang of shooting things instead of not being able to hit shit when you aim.

The combat especially always shocks me, people say it's 'way better than the other Bethesda games!'

Yeah, in the same way that smallpox is somewhat better than anthrax. I'd prefer NEITHER.

Fallout 4's combat is a lot SMOOTHER, sure. It's actually fairly up-to-snuff. But let down by some of the most retarded enemy AI to exist, and some of the worst balancing decisions ever.

The framework for a good FPS is there, the skeleton proverbially exists.

But the meat hanging off those bones are rotten, the muscles atrophied, the nerves misfiring...
 
A Video Game Marketing Company called Newzoo recently talked about a survey of reportedly over 73,000 gamers and had some interesting findings they shared at GDC.

Among said revelations include the PC Master Race outnumbers Console Gamers by an estimated 907.5 million to a mere 653.1 million Console Gamers in 2024.

And in regard to the age of the game played...

The data shows that from January 2024 to December 2024, 67% of player hours on PC were spent on a game that was six or more years old. A further 25% of player hours were spent on games that were two to five years old, and the remaining 8% of time was spent on games that are less than two years old.

  • 7.1% were on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive / Counter-Strike 2

  • 6.2% were in Roblox
  • 5.8% were in Dota 2

Yeah Legacy Killa/Michael had a pretty good spoiler free review of the game.



Overall he said the story was boring, the characters were boring because one was far more fun to play then the other, and that the combat and exploration felt unnecessarily restrictive and there were just a lot of puzzling game design choices made.

The biggest issue for this particular game was the Shinobi was far more fun to play apparently then the Johnny Somali Samurai.
