Yeah it's pretty obvious you can tell the nitwits who have no idea about MMA or the UFC when commenting on this.
Colby Covington was just another semi boring wrestler on the roster. Most of his wins were decisions or late round stoppages and even though he was winning there were rumors he'd get cut anyways as soon as he lost or even after his contract pewtered out.
So after beating Damian Maia he took on this character and called the usually hostile Brazilian fans (the ones who literally chant for death of non-Brazilian fighters and spew racial epithets during events) "filthy animals" and did his suit wearing MAGA thing.
He was basically adopting a character and wore progressively cheaper suits and tried starting random feuds with people. Even with Joe Rogan. And the article is doubly hilarious by calling UFC fans xenophobic when during the Lawler fight he came into the 'Kurt Angle' WWE theme music and just like in WWE the fans started chanting 'You Suck' to Colby.
The fact progdorks are hailing this as some sort of victory over xenophobia is just hilarious. The guy was basically a more flamboyant Chael Sonnen and everyone loved seeing him get choked out by Anderson Silva.
Or as Chael called it afterwards... "Passing the torch."
Didn't get his jaw broke though. That's dedication.

Maybe a boxing grifter. Was it worth being an asshole to get an injury that can't be easily fixed with money? He earned a lot of money putting on a show until that match.
But that's the risk of fights like these. Maybe the fighter who broke his jaw could end up with a similar or even worse injury. It's the way it goes in the MMA fights.
