Five minutes of hate news

The state would lose federal funding for thier force, and would most likely be unable to train on a constant basis.
Which basically means u less they train themselves with states money, state taxes would have to increase

They just need a properly-organized fundraiser. Bigger than a bake-sale, though...

I've got it! They can sell fully-automatic weapons and destructive devices for less-than-NFA prices to the 'inactive reserve' of the Oklahoma state militia! And make clear that, because of Oklahoma's central strategic location in the US and manpower requirements, make it so those 'inactive reserve' positions in the militia are assigned to any citizen in the United States, just to ensure a ready reaction force for the state in case of emergency.

Wham-bam, training budget acquired!

Now that is what you call an 'elegant solution'.

I've met some people from rural Oklahoma. An M4 which is full-auto instead of the ones with the "we can't count" three-shot burst mode the military got and civilians can't buy is something they were not interested in because it didn't have the right kind of firepower for their needs.

You do know the M4 Carbine is three rounds unless you get the A1 which is full auto

Duh!

I did specifically mention the three-round mode: which is actually 2-5 for the first pull of the trigger.

BTW, here's someone taking a full-auto member of that firearm family to its limits and intentionally breaking it.

From what I understand, the standard M4 was burst. I could be wrong
From what I know, you are right.

In the video I shared the guy went through way more ammo than a front line infantryman would have been able to carry in a few minutes.

IIRC from what I've been told: it's 210 rounds for an infantryman which won't even last 30 seconds when full auto "spray and pray" suppressive fire is needed.

Almost every weapon the US Military fields as a battle rifle, M16 and M4 (today) are entirely semi-auto or burst fire, NOT automatic. That M4 was modified from standard to be fully automatic. The fully auto weaponry employed are the SAWs and M249s for most units, with other stuff as assigned by mission.

If you're referring to the video I posted ... that wasn't a standard M4. It was a kitbashed AR15 and part of a sales pitch meant to impress potential customers.

Merely commenting that 210 rounds will last a good bit longer than 30 seconds for an infantryman. Aimed, single-shot fire is the rule, burst fire is the exception, and only trained for use against massed targets.

My great-great-great-grandfather was part of John T. Wilder's "Lightning Brigade". The seven-shot Spencer's they used hit a lot harder than an M4. At 14-20 aimed shots per minute in trained hands they're even nastier than an M82 Barrett sniper rifle which uses 12.7x99 (0.50 BMG).

You’re right that the “standard” M4 is burst with full auto being on the M4A1, but at least per Wikipedia they’re switching over entirely to the A1, (with the switch having been planned to have already occurred).

The A1 is an early model which was replaced because it was inadequate. That it's coming back means that the replacements are worse.

The M4A1 is the standard weapon now.

That is correct

How? One can burst fire with an M4, and it is usually when you have to lay suppressive fire if your AR/MG are down until you get it back up.
A1 is always a later model from the original

The older original was the M16. No one really liked that piece of unreliable bullshit and I would rather be unarmed than be asked to carry and use an M16.

I'm not talking about that.
The M4 is a carbine and the A1 is better
