Its becoming abundantly clear that the Joint Chiefs feel like they have no obligation to obey elected officials they dislike. They lied about the pull out in Syria and apparently blew off preparation orders from both both the Trump and Biden administrations in Afghanistan. We know they lied about that last drone strike in Afghanistan and who knows what else they've lied about or what other orders they've opted to ignore.

Like so many of our non-elected officials the military bureaucracy has faced no consequences for blatantly illegal and malicious actions for so long that they clearly believe they are above such concerns. If the elected government does not start punishing bad actions this will continue until the conventional military joins the alphabet agencies in being rogue actors.

The Pentagon itself was a mistake, centralizing that kind of power was a grave error.

Disperse it.

Keep the combined service branches and their intelligence apparatuses as far away from DC and the New England Region as possible. Even remove the army HQ from West Point and shove it in the Aleutians or something.

Question was what to do when USA would be normal again.And you are right,that with current leadership nothing would helped,even if all commanders was mix of Patton and Terminator.
 
If you are on base you already can get that to happen.

No, I am asking for some clarification on what it is trying to say.
But the military can do such things to someone on base. Because it is federal property and you have no 4thamendment anymore.
If you live off base though, different story

You could have read the article lol.

It seems that they're extending this beyond on base.

So they can make sure you don't have guns at your off base home as well.

Yeah, it isn't going to go over well.

The amount of gun owners in the military is huge, and a lot of MPs would probably be scared to confiscate them, especially since they do not have jurisdiction off base

It'll be used only to disarm people who set off red flags.

And judging by the direction the elected government, intelligence community and military brass are going, the "red flags" will be applied to right wingers who question election integrity, are anti-vax, or oppose critical race theory.

Yeah, that isn't what would happen, but I know you will only go off what the media shows and now what is actually happening.
Because it has become clear to a lot of the military below the Pentgaon how lost the oentagon has become and the like.
