Five minutes of hate news

The police clearly don't want the people's support anymore, and are embracing their roles as the elite's enforcers. Self-centered backstabbers, the lot of them; and not particularly clever ones at that, seeing as said elites will betray them in turn as they see fit. Something they should have learned over the past year or so, but apparently have not.
The police are as corrupt as the rest of our country.

Never trust the police.

Individual officers can be and usually are fine people.

The organizations the run them are rotten to the core.

BLM is right in disliking police. It's just that their "defund" solution is batshit crazy when they are already under funded, over worked, under paid and under trained.

Wait, isn't this Campus police, not regular police?

When they're campus police as opposed to campus security, they have all the same authority and jurisdiction as "real" police.

Given the sheer size of major university campuses, there *is* an argument for them being functionally equivalent to small towns in their own right, and therefore having police is not entirely unreasonable. The problem is that a university is also a private entity whose "government" is not elected by the resident community and doesn't even indirectly answer to them, *nor* does it answer to the actual city it falls within.

Campus police are usually a police precinct of the city police assigned to a college campus.
No, Campus Police are hired by the college, not the city. Which means that they are the most vulnerable to lefty takeover as their boss can order them to do stupid stuff. Like look at what the campus police did at Evergreen state. They were ordered not to interfere with the bullshit that was happening.

Casino Executive Rodney Baker and his actress wife Ekaterina Baker flew from their luxurious life in Vancouver to the Yukon Territory where after promising local authorities they would quarantine for two weeks, promply chartered a private flight to indigenous territory and at a mobile Covid Vaccination site, presented themselves as local motel workers in order to defraud them into receiving a vaccine meant for locals of indigenous background.

The millionaire couple was fined $1150 EACH for their actions. They may face more charges including the potential of facing up to six months in prison.

Something only a sociopath would presume to attempt with the expectation they'd get away with it. Our elite class everybody!

From the colleges I have been around, this is not the case. Though they will commonly have a jurisdiction agreement where they can each function in each other's jurisdictions. So for example in my home town college, the city police can respond and arrest people on campus and campus police can do the same in all the surrounding areas around campus that are usually non university associated student housing.

They are completely separate entities, however.

An as of yet unknown hacker was able to remotely access the computer of a Florida cities water system and attempted to increase the amount of Sodium Hydroxide (lye) from 100 parts per million to over 11,000 ppm.

As per the article in higher concentrations it can be corrosive and can cause irritation to the skin and eyes, along with temporary loss of hair. Swallowing it can cause damage to the mouth, throat and stomach and induce vomiting, nausea and diarrhea.

Fortunately workers at the plant immediatelt recognized what was happening and prevented such an occurrence from playing out.

Is there any way to make sure that the computers that are in charge of this stuff are not connected to the internet? Maybe have a closed system for that kind of shit?

You need to lay additional lines to make closed system and it costs, while still being vulnerable to direct tapping.

This is just an unbelievable OP-ED by a woman who's deeply angry, because her Trump-supporting neighbors cleared the snow off her driveway without asking anything in return. She goes through segues of how Hezbolla probably also does things for free for people, and has to get Nazis in there by remembering her stay in France where she had to look at a picture of somebody vaguely Nazi-adjacent, and gets wokeness in there by mentioning how her neighborhood is mostly white, which is of course not her fault for choosing there to live but the neighborhood's fault for choosing to be white around her.

Ultimately she concludes that she will not do anything to return the favor, because she cannot forgive them for supporting Trump. Indeed she physically can't, she explains as forgiveness for their sins is not hers to give and anyway the fact that her neighbors are freely helping her is no match for the evil of voting for a candidate she disapproves of.

That woman is clearly insane; I'm surprised she didn't accuse them of trying to steal her teeth. There's no helping someone who's as far gone as that.

Honestly for me, I'd generally regarded Trump Derangement Syndrome being hyperbole but with this woman, it's just bole. She's so incensed at the thought of a Trump supporter that her neighbors being friendly and clearing her driveway for her free makes her compare them to Hezbolla and Nazis. I suspect her reaction is because she know she should accept their kindness and is lashing out to avoid doing so.

Anger and hate can be addictive as any drug. These people, by showing kindness to their neighbor, put her daily fix at risk and she's lashing out at them for it.
