The black communities greatest streangth and greatest weakness is their pride.

This pride allowed them to survive some pretty horrendus shit, has propelled the community into stardom in music, the arts, movies, and sports. But the downside is that its really hard for the community to self correct or admit they have problems that need to be fixed.

they likely got this from the culture of the southern whites around them, because actual african's are much more willing to admit when things are fucked and much more willing to look for a lifestyle that brings more concrete results.

So how do you fix this?

Honestly my solution is to restore the rightful powers, authority and love that black fathers deserve. Fix the black family and everything else will improve with time.

You need stop paing single mothers, then.Good idea, but impossible to made with current politicians.
Maybe just pay less?
And made big money start paing taxes,so blacks could start their own bussines again.
It is even more impossible.

Sorry, you need to kill Wall Street moguls first.

Never got why Uncle Tom is a insult given the historical root of that phrase. Ya know the book that helped get the north's public support on ending slavery starting to become widespread?

crab bucket mentality.

an "uncle tom" is an old phrase that is equivalent to twinkie (yellow on outside, white on inside) or oreo (black on the outside, white on the inside).

It is when a non white avoids crime, gangs, and drugs.
gets an education, gets a job, leaves "da hood". and learns to speak properly and dress properly. also good hygene.

they are seen as a race traitor for self actualizing. and "acting as if you are better than us"

there is also the twist of the modern self hating white liberal that hates any individual who breaks the narrative of "white man's burden" they operate under. where all non whites must be helped with gibs and are helpless and pathetic without a white man to care for them.

Desperate for Lifeguards, Philly Says It's OK If Interested Candidates Can't Swim

It may be the middle of winter now. But before you know it, Memorial Day will be here, the kids will get out of school, and they'll need something to do all day other than get on your nerves. That's where Philadelphia's dozens of public pools come in. And what do you need if you have a public pool? Lifeguards, of course.

Thanks to COVID and budget cuts (that were thanks to COVID), we didn't have public pools at all in 2020. Philadelphia opened some of its city pools in 2021 but had problems recruiting lifeguards. And the city encountered similar issues last year.

So for the 2023 pool season in Philadelphia, the city has started recruiting early. And if you can't swim, you can still apply. That's right. According to representatives of the city's Parks & Recreation Department I spoke with, the city is actively recruiting lifeguard candidates who would sink like a stone if you threw them in the deep end today. The city will provide free swimming lessons at Lincoln High School in Mayfair to anybody who doesn't know how to swim, assuming they are committed to testing into the lifeguard program this summer.

Oh yes, I'm sure someone who just learned to swim will do just fine as a lifeguard.

Honestly probably not that big a problem in a public pool. The main job of a lifeguard for public pools is yelling at kids not to splash or yell so much. Given the distances involved, if somebody is actually in trouble it can usually be solved by reaching toward them with a long-handled pool broom or net, the lifeguard won't actually ever have to swim unless the pool's enormous.

If the standards are as stringent as the 'We'll pay for you to get your Commercial Driver's License' with people hiring prospective truckers/bus drivers, it shouldn't be a problem.

Heck, somewhat like Bear Ribs points out, if it's 'hey, the pool is at most six feet deep. You're 6'6", so you'll be able to do the job,' that'd work too.

...I doubt the standards will be that stringent.
