In this scenario Elon Musk is more powerful than any individual or world government in history considering he has genetics, material science and software technology all lightyears ahead of what anyone else on the planet can dream of. The actual direct implications of him inventing robot sex-maids and jars you can grow babies in are somewhat insignificant compared to the implications of being able to do such a thing, and distribute it cheaply. Cheaply really is the part that kills me. VR systems and decent mid range cars are still on the border of luxury even in the nicer parts of the globe, but now desktop supercomputers and six foot super-roombas are common.

Yeah, at that point, we're probably all going to be shitting ourselves when we realize that Elon Musk can take over the world and no one would have a realistic shot of stopping him without resorting to drastic measures.

Also, every city/military will be lining up to offer Elon whatever the fuck he wants to get the rights to make/use the robot power supplies for their own purposes, especially if it's super OP in longevity.

I'd imagine legally the Government would inform the kids of who their biological parents are in the long run. Orphans and abandoned children can track down their family as adults, after all.
