I suspect they either don't realize how bad this might look, are too desperate or, more depressingly, just don't care because they think the MSM will be able to cover up/shut down any counterarguments. And they might not be wrong.

I think this is a matter of desperation. Trump needs what, three states to prove election-flipping fraud, and that proves the Democrats stole the election?

If it's proven that not only did the Democrats cheat, but they did so in bulk in multiple states, that doesn't just mean that Biden is instantly proven illegitimate, it means that there will be a nation-wide demand for election integrity, and huge numbers of democrat voters will have the mask pulled away for them.

If there's a meaningful nation-wide push for election integrity, the Democrat party will be completely ruined. They are dependent on dead people voting for them and the like to maintain margins in many precincts, and that's before you count votes lost because people don't want to vote for cheaters.

Basically, while it looks horrible for them to be trying to block investigations into fraud, if those investigations are actually carried out, they are done. It's an existential threat.

Not just the Democrats; many RINOs also rely on the same cheats to win elections. In any event, the establishment are not going to let go of power without a fight; so even if this push succeeds, we have to be ready for when they resort to violence to try and maintain their grip on it.

Yes, some Republicans cheat too. But the Democrats need to cheat in order to maintain the level of office representation that they have. If it was not so, they would not be so dedicated to keeping cheating as easy as possible.
