Election 2020 Election 2020: It's (almost) over! (maybe...possibly...ahh who are we kidding, it's 2020!)

One thing I do kind of hope this election does is bring an end to the "Silent Majority" narrtive as I think we've used that narritive to be lazy and complacent. No we are not a silent majority we are just a silent half. The country is split between Urban and Rural and if conservatives want to be heard, we can't afford to be silent and assume we have strength in numbers, because we don't.

Well, looks like us who were more pessimistic about Trump's chances were in the right here. Its still within the realm of possibility that he wins if he manages to pull ahead in either Arizona or Nevada, but it certainly wouldn't be the landslide some people were predicting.

As for voter fraud, I'll assume things are on the level for now; though 'm sure Trump will bring everything he possibly can before the courts.
Yeah, I was more pessimistic. Trump may still win this, and it’s honestly closer than I would have guessed, I thought it would be closer than polls predicted but that Biden would win a bit more decisively than what we see now.

I’ve always thought that some of the optimism here was unjustified, because despite a few victories here or there, the left has been solidly winning in the US for many decades, and will continue to win even more in the future until they have burned down Western civilization to its foundation and salted the earth around the ashes. Trump was just a temporary delay in the inevitable leftist takeover of America.

Of course, this is DOOM, or black pilled as I prefer. But it’s better to be realistic about the future of conservatism.

conservatism niether offers flash or honeyed words or paths of least reistance. It speaks life at how it is, dull, drudging, and dangerous. People niether want to hear that or accept that. So they choose the man that says "Follow me and I'll will build statues in your glory and make those you despise your footstool."

If that's the case though, they're essentially cutting off their noses to spite their faces; Trump was a response to what the Dems did during Obama's terms. The reaction to Biden's will likely be far, far worse.

Probably. It’s why I find this whole shitshow to be hilarious. They really don’t understand the country is made up of about 330 million people with diverse ideas, but one underlying belief is that we should just be allowed to do our own things in peace without the government telling us what to do and not giving us recourse. It’s something their base doesn’t get -they think we should be emulating Europe, while ignoring the fact that Europe is in deep shit and most of the stuff the left advocates has already been tried and shown to fail miserably.

But yeah that’s why I am kind of hoping Biden wins but the GOP holds the Senate. The backblast in 2022 and 2024 is going to be epic. Hell, someone on SB pointed out the only reason Trump is struggling is because of COVID, and it’s true. They don’t get that by and large people don’t want their agenda, but rather that they think they do until they see the price tag (in dollars or other non monetary costs) attached. Then it’s “thanks but no thanks”

Start up the Green New Deal after Covid.
It was thankfully quiet last night. Police were on full alert with riot squads suited up and standing by, but there was no aggressive activity -- none reported on police alerts, none witnessed by myself or any or my security officers on radio, and none mentioned in the media.
Good.

Well, I actually thought last night went rather well. By all understanding, the Republicans will hold the Senate, which means any real damage Joe Biden could have caused outside of foreign policy is dead (Oh, but foreign policy is going to be a shitshow). All Presidents are worse in their second term, from Reagan to Clinton to Bush to Obama, so Trump avoiding those issues probably will help Republicans moving into the future. He also demonstrated the new path forward for the GOP, bringing in minority voters with conservative social values and working to help them get good jobs, and building a new party. And we got our Supreme Court seats. So...for a somewhat Trumper...I think the country came out rather well all things considered.

True, but I’d still like Trump to win another term as president.

Agreed. And yes, you’re probably right on foreign policy, but at the same time, Trump’s actual accomplishments on that front (better relations with and in the Middle East, taking a hard line on China, surprisingly improving relations with Mexico (yeah that one surprised me too but apparently he and AMLO actually managed to hammer some stuff out fairly easily), while putting the rest of the world on notice that we won’t just support them out of the goodness of our hearts (really, that the system we built to contain the Soviet threat is going the way of the Soviets)...I would say overall Biden can fuck it up, sure, if he works at it, but if so it’ll just make a Republican victory in 2024 all the more likely.

Trump was a wake up call to the GOP to unfuck itself and it largely seems to have worked. But we shall see.

I actually think that the state of emergency banner on our forum is misguided. The people over on Frozen in Carbonite are talking about how our site is having a meltdown, when really we’re doing just fine as a forum, just a little unhappy about election results. Of course, they are going to badmouth us regardless, but why give people the impression that we are having problems that we aren’t?

Just like last time we had a melodramatic banner that made it seem like we were having problems. There is no reason for it.
