there is a reason why when the country goes into revolution that I honestly think that reporters will be the most heavily targeted, and when the civil wars are over they will get most of the blame.
There is an old chinese saying: 乱世出英雄

Heroes rise in turbulent times.

Or as you Anglo-Americans like to say, weak men create hard times, hard times create strong men, and finally strong men create good times!

My money is that the right wing reporters will be targeted for murder and violence first with the MSN gleefully supporting every bit of it and then them turning around and finding out that all of their social protections are now gone and its open season.
one Rittenhouse-class Terminator per reporter will be enough.

I bet $25 USD on this.

And this is what the Ukrainians decided to do when they were told that the temporary financing for their stay at 5-star seaside hotels was cut and they have to vacate the their hotel rooms.
I wonder if the "paint" they used was from the bathroom.
Just more oil poured on the fire of one of my country's industries.
All Ukrainian refugees IMO should just be rounded up by the EU and shipped over to the USA.

Oh, lovely. They've sent me a mo-ron.
More admitting reality now that they can no longer pretend.
If they double down they can get their Russian gunk from the rest of the EU that didn't join them or India and still claim they're enforcing it after they pay extra. This video explains it. It's just no longer "Russian" after the processing is done through a third party.

I assume Putin's train of thought was "my army can beat the Ukrainian army and the rest of the world can't meaningfully intervene because MAD deterrence or sanction my country because they need our oil and wheat from former Ukrainian territory". Unfortunately he failed to account for two factors:
  • The sheer spectacular degree of pettiness and stupidity possessed by the oligarchy's leadership, to the point where their propagandists are doubling down on calling for nuclear apocalypse rather than admitting their system of "send vital farming or manufacturing abroad so sanctioning anyone cripples everyone" could possibly be flawed.
  • The oligarchy wants to destroy the economies of their own nations so their politically connected megacorporations like Blackrock can buy up all assets for cheap and reinstitute serfdom via company town rental economics and are if anything, glad to have an outside force to blame.

Step right up black market boyos! Souvenirs of Uncle Sam on the cheap.
yeah, a lot of those and Ukraine's other tech are not gonna find their way to the Levant and cause all sorts of ruckus.
I wonder if one of these can, for example damage an oil tanker passing through the Suez channel in some way...

When that happens I don't know if they were hoping for that to happen.

Imagine the amount of trolling you could do by blowing one tanker in the Straits of Hormuz or Suez Canal with a american Javelin meant for Ukraine
Taking out an oil tanker would take multiple AShMs, a Javelin doesn't contribute much to that sort of fight, and boghammers already have less expensive rockets and local missiles if they are going for a saturation strike.

your knowledge of military strategy makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time.

laugh because its ridiculous, cry because it will destroy the environment

modern oil tankers have double hulls.

in order to accomplish the objective (block a Canal or strait), all you need are a half dozen semi-competent frogmen with limpet mines

pick a tanker that's riding low in the water (full of oil), use a speed tester to get the tanker's speed, set the timer on the limpet mines, plant the aforementioned mines, escape to a safe distance and then watch as the explosions blow out the outer hull and sinking the tanker right in the middle of the Canal

remember, we want to destroy the enemy not destroy the environment along with them

I am pretty sure that a Javelin could at least start a big fire. Oil Tankers aren't built to take anti-vehicle ordinance, and even though they are pretty thick and sturdy that is a missile. I am willing to concede it may not be the one hit kill I might have expected but you would be looking at a at least moderate amount of trolling by starting a leak and fire.

Or one of those other missiles the West was shipping in.

Tbh I doubt that a javelin or NLAW can take out a tanker, but a few might be able to rupture an LNG tanker's cisterns.
And LNG in contact with water goes kaboom due to rapid phase transition.
I wonder if something very hot slamming into the reservoir, like, say burning thermite might be able to create a self-sustaining exothermic reaction.

Oy, @bintananth feasibility analysis on my latest insane plot to make bigga booms and cause shiny, shiny explosions, mischief, famine, war and jaywalking АСАП пожалуйста, ! Спасибо!!!!

So, yeah, here is Jim Bianco about inflation, jobs and there is some video with some pop geostrategist called Zeihan or whatever, that a few people on here like.

In more related news, Russia retaliates to Taiwan's chip export ban with a ban on key gas exports:

Hope you guys bought new PCs/laptops/other necessary electronics, cause there will be more chip shortages.

Anyway, India is far from the only willing buyer for Russian oil, China buys massive amounts and exports to it have grown massively.
