Looking this up....

Russians first began contacting the Chukchi when they reached the Kolyma River (1643) and the Anadyr River (1649).[12] The route from Nizhnekolymsk to the fort at Anadyrsk along the southwest of the main Chukchi area became a major trade route. The overland journey from Yakutsk to Anadyrsk took about six months.

The Chukchi were generally ignored for the next fifty years because they were warlike and did not provide furs or other valuable commodities to tax. Armed skirmishes flared up around 1700 when the Russians began operating in the Kamchatka Peninsula and needed to protect their communications from the Chukchi and Koryak. The first attempt to conquer them was made in 1701. Other expeditions were sent out in 1708, 1709 and 1711 with considerable bloodshed but little success. War was renewed in 1729, when the Chukchi defeated an expedition from Okhotsk and killed its commander. Command passed to Major Dmitry Pavlutsky, who adopted very destructive tactics, burning, killing, driving off reindeer, and capturing women and children.[13] In 1742, the government at Saint Petersburg ordered another war in which the Chukchi and Koryak were to be "totally extirpated". The war (1744–7) was conducted with similar brutality and ended when Pavlutsky was killed in March 1747.[13] It is said that the Chukchi kept his head as a trophy for a number of years.

So eager to get back to trading your womenfolk for sable skins, eh descendant of Siberian illegal migrants and of the people who genocided Nort American neanderthals?
Well, after the inevitable economic collapse brought upon by the destruction of the Eurodollar system you might get your wish.
Now, unless you want to discuss economic issues and contribute to the thread, can you please fuck off?
Your petty little spitefulness and anti-Russia reeing are uninteresting to me.

EDIT: Also, god fucking damn it, you'd think that Kier would have implemented a proper blocking function after all these years!

It would be nice if at the very least we got even a little bit more self-sufficient again because of this mess. We never should have exported so much industry, nor become dependent on frankly an enemy state as we have.

It would be nice for the US to be self reliant, Its in a unique position to essentially tell the world to go fuck itself due too having an abundance of nearly every critical resource.

Your transnational corpos will hate that, though.
They will have to pay real wages, stop pedding your debt to other countries, and follow a lot of regulations that they can get out of in 3rd world shitholes.
A lot of you will see your standards of living and your investments go down in value, but long-term everyone save Wall Street, Silocin Valley, the Military Industrial complex and the Washington blob midwit *studies and foreign policy degrees welfare program will flourish.
A large portion of the parasitic SJW bureaucrat/services class will have to find honest work though, and you will have to revalue the dollar and probably implement some national pension system to help out all the broke boomers whose house prices and 401Ks will get nuked.
This Forth Turning it will probably happen.

Also, ANNEX CANADA!

It's nice to know you unblocked me just for some lame attempt to troll me. :sneaky:

But if you're actually curious, I like the part where they held the Russians off in basically every attempt they made to conquer them, and killed two of their commanders in the process. I especially like the part where they kept the head of the last one as a trophy. ☺ Served those invading, murdering bastards right.

The corps can get fucked as can the broke boomers. The US is all about individualism and self reliance essentially survival of the fit, We have no cultural identity anymore to make us give a shit about our fellow citizens. So as for some kind of additional pension tax? Nah fuck that.

IMHO in that case you will just break in two, the part that owns and makes all of the stuff, that being the central parts, and the left and left-er coasts.
You will probably have to storm them and take at least some of the coastline, though, and your new national identity will be "We are not NY/SanFran".

Also, sorry to burst your bubble, but generally people are social animals,so there will be some form of demand for a new social welfare system to aid the poor and the elderly.

I can't wait to visit one, personally, even if I have to go to Nish or Prishtina.
Priština is in Kosovo, which is the most pro-USA part of the European continent. Also the most corrupt country in Europe, but that's not the topic right now.

For now...for now... :devilish:

Here are two pretty nice videos regarding commodities, interest rates, the coming financial repression, and the like:

Oh, lovely. They've sent me a mo-ron.
That's an outside possibility, but I'd guess that we're going to have another round of Russians who don't want to live under a dictatorship fleeing that country (the not as rich ones that haven't been able to leave yet), and everyone else having to live under a tyrant who's going to do his best to relive the glory days of the Soviet Union. There are going to be countries willing to do business with them, but there will be a lot of risk involved, and nuUSSR is going to self-isolate until its economy can get back on an even keel, and even then they're basically going to turn into what China is now.
I read conflicting information it may not result in that way because of the collateral damage the sanctions will do like this one you posted.
Meanwhile:

Like this one Russian who was against Ukraine the collateral damage of the sanctions is also affecting him. Out of self preservation those who were more neutral or against Putin would be forced to side with him because much of the world is riding the wave of anti Russian hysteria.
Putin's approval rating actually spiked to close to 80% thanks to western spergouts and sanctions.
Russia had problems with inflation as well, because the glut of dollars that came into their economy due to somebody's stimmies and money printing and low interest rates, and Putin was placing export taxes on grains and energy because he wanted to lower the inflation for the Russian consumer.
Well, this decoupling actually limits his exposure to the West's eurodollar system and its moneyprinter go brr approach, and gives him more control over inflation at home, and Westerners not buying Russian goods helps him with food and energy inflation, as well as gives him more freedom to implement exchange controlls, higher interest rates, and dedollarize the economy.
Any businesses that leave Russia can be bought up for fire sale prices and many imported products can be substituted with domestically made ones or Chinese ones, like it already happened with foodstuffs.
The result of that export substitution was turning Russia from a net importer of food, to a net exporter of food.
Also, how come the Chukchi is seeing my posts?
I blocked him.
Yes the method of a foreign action affecting the country can cause people with neutral or negative opinions towards their leader to rally behind him against the foreign country wanting to fuck with their livelihood.

Russia doesn't give a shit, they already implemeted a law that says Russia doesn't give a rat's ass about the intellectual property of countries that sanction it.
Also, I am pretty sure those new Chains, like Crimea Fried Chicken, Unkle Vanya and DonMac will be welcomed wholeheartedly by the Chinese soon. :D
And they will probably become popular in places like Serbia, Iran, Vietnam and a bunch of other locations, too.

I can't wait to visit one, personally, even if I have to go to Nish or Prishtina.
Bonus points if the Serbian branch makes a Fried Nighthawk special.
Actually, that will be popular with the Chinese as well, since they are still pissed off because Bill's BimboExplosion aftermath caused the bombing of their Serbian Embassy.

They already have their indeginous map, search and mail services.
VK and Odnoklasniki IIRC are more popular in Russia than Facebook to begin with.
They have an alternative to Instagram working or in the works.
Replacing Amazon and Google's infrastructure will be the biggest bottleneck for all the companies that use Cloud.
The Russian government has been pushing for less reliance in the tech sector for years now, so their reliance on Microsoft, Oracle and SAP products should have been mitigated years ago.
Their indigenous payment processors have taken up the slack from the Visa and Mastercard exodus, that was another project in the pipeline.

They should have no problems then being service and resource independent for the future.

One of the consequences to what the West did is to rope the Swedish into breaking their neutrality by joining in the sanctions. That won't bode well for the famed Swedish banks if the precedent means if they folded to pressure to fuck with Putin and the Russian oligarch's money what does that mean for the money of other wealthy people?

Ah, is the little Russian shill upset people he has chosen to ignore can still respond to him? And calling a Lakota a Chukchi is probably a complement, considering the trouble Russia had with them and the hassles Lakota gave the US.

Also, acting like you control or dictate who can say what in this thread is rather hilarious.

We can see through your coping and seething over the fact a lot of people like you were trying to play both the NATO and Russian side for years, and now you cannot play that game anymore.

Maybe your purchasing power and domestic situations n wouldn't have gone to shit if you and yours hadn't been suckling at the Bear's teat for so long.

So cope and seeth all you want and try to block/ignore people who clap back at you, it won't change anything and will give a lot of us a good laugh. We aren't the ones who were stupid enough to depend on Russian tourist money and fertilizer for our economy.

The only people diminishing my Purchasing power are the ECB, the US Fed, and the morons who decided to sanction Europe's main sources of Energy and other materials.
This sanctions idiocy has probably put enough cracks into what is referred to as the Eurodollar system to make it unrecoverable.
Germany was close to recession before this started, with the loss of raw materials, energy and and fertilizers as to damage the Eurozone massively, French farmers are striking because of high input prices and some countries are already banning food exports, and if you think that a contagion won't spread to the USA and send you into a fucking new Great Depression then I have some land in Florida to sell you.
"But just buy it from xyz..." doesn't fucking cut it, genius, not when so much supply is disrupted so suddenly and not when demand is growing.
It will take time to increase production and find alternate sources, and the problem is here, now, and getting bigger.

I frankly don't give a damn what type of pre-Columbian tribe that moron thinks he comes from, and it is hilarious that his avatar was that of the US President who had the most nasty stuff to say about hyphenated Americans, fun irony.
My problem with him is that he is a moron, and it is morons like him and like a certain Pole on here that make up some of the fleas, that make the whole tail wag the dog.
Of course, they are useful idiots for other, richer and more influential people, but a bit of real grass roots is good to fill the spaces between the slabs of astroturf.
You done white knighting?
Are you going to contribute something to the thread that is, you know, related to the actual subject, or are you just gonna ree like a little brat and feel butthurt by proxy?

I'm not white knighting or ree'ing or butthurt, I'm smug and laughing at your cope and seething while pointing out your insults are rather lacking in context of who you are talking too.

You didn't even address the point I made about people trying to play with both NATO and Russia for their economy, because you know it's right. You wanted to suck at the Bear's teat and yet still operate in the SWIFT/USD system, and now you can't play that game anymore so you lash out at anyone but Russia, who actually caused this problem. No one forced Putin to go full retard and invade.

Yes, the US may face issues as well, and we already are. However we also weren't so stupid as to put our critical supplies in the hands of Russia and make ourselves dependent on Russia for a big part of our economy. You Euro's had the option to switch suppliers long ago, to get out from under Moscow's thumb, and you didn't; that's on you all and no one else.

This will be a crap time for most for many of us, but it'll be worse for those who tried to play both sides and now are facing a reality where you cannot double dip with DC and Moscow.

1)16 000 Russians dead in Donbass, dude, 16 000.
You guys went postal for less than 1/3 of that, bombed and occupied two countries and wasted north of 6 trillion dollars.
Instead, Putin kept trying to get a multilateral solution for 8 years.
Go watch Oliver Stone's movie and read the UN's report if you do not believe me.
2) Russia's red lines. Ukraine in NATO would have been worse, for them, than Cuba under Castro was for you during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
3) And it was not merely weapons and an army at their doorstep. The Black Sea fleet, as well as their access to black sea shipping was put in danger.
4) Yeah, buy more expensive shale oil and gas from the Suaids, the UAE and from the USA.The Arabs sanctioned the USA in the 70s, and the USA has proven to be extremely heavy-handed with sanctions when somebody isn't their bitch.
neither the reliability, nor the price would have improved.Diversification - perhaps, but losing one provider, especially one that is right next door, is a fucking stupid idea.
As to NATO, well it is an international organization without a purpose since the Cold War ended, they kept flailing and trying to find a new purpose to feed their bureaucrats and expand their budgets, well now they got one.
Frankly, an EU security pact would have been better, then we could have all bought Rafales, Gripens and Leclerks
instead of overpriced US equipment that the NATO/US military-industrial complex racket forces us to purchase.

Yes, the US may face issues as well, and we already are. Yeah, you are just dependant on the Saudis, and you went to Venezuela and Iran to beg for oil.
Actually, I will repeat that, and bold it:

and you went to Venezuela and Iran to beg for oil.

This will be a crap time for most for many of us, but it'll be worse for those who tried to play both sides and now are facing a reality where you cannot double dip with DC and Moscow.
Trade with everyone, alliances with no one, was something one of your presidents said, correct?
Why don't you let people practice what you preached when you were actually great and realizing potential?
Better yet, why don't you tend to your own patch of land and stop exporting color revolutions, wars, worthless IOUs and GFCs around the globe?
And stop being the planet's bloated welfare queen, while you are at it.
Why not read the writings of the noted leftist Kremlin supporters Peter Schiff and Ray Dalio on the subject of use and abuse of reserve currency and what will happen if the USA loses its reserve status?
And stop enabling and praising garbage like Saddam Hussein, the Saudi royal family, Batista, and bin Laden while you are at it.
Oh, and while we are blaming people for bad decisions, it is your greed and money printing made China, you pushed it into the WTO, despite knowing what they did and still do.
You enabled Pakistan to terrorize people in India.
You "made" the Taliban, although you were the midwife, not the parents.

I'm not really involved in this fight, but, well....

With both Australia and the US, we we stupid enough to end up totally dependant on China.

I think that's worse than Russia.
