Humor/Comedy Celebrity Cringe Thread

Who would've imagined someone with such a redemptive story like Chris Brown doing something like this (allegedly)...

BBC said:
According to the document, seen by the Newsbeat, the woman claims she was offered drinks by Brown after arriving, and later felt "a sudden, unexplained change in consciousness".

It claims she became "disoriented, physically unstable, and started to fall in and out of sleep", before being led to a bedroom where Brown allegedly undressed and raped her.

Brown is said to have contacted the woman the following day, telling her to take an emergency contraceptive.

Chris Brown potentially implied on Instagram that this $20 million lawsuit is meant to impact or target the impending release of his new album.

Apparently Trump Supporter and former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani will be one of the mysterious contestants on the reality celebrity singing show The Masked Singer and his revelation was so triggering that two of the four judges, Robin Thicke and Ken Jeong, walked off the set in protest and disgust, leaving their two less sensitive co-hosts Nicole Scherzinger and Jenna McCarthy to engage in banter with the Mayor.

The ree'ing here is apparently even stronger then the ree'ing when in 2020 Sarah Palin was a contestant on The Masked Singer or former Trump Administration Press Secretary Sean Spicer's appearance on Dancing With the Stars even earlier in 2019.

Man Fuck The View. Apparently she's been dropping based opinions regardless of accuracy or veracity the whole time and it's only when the Holocaust came up that she got into trouble.

She needs her own Podcast if anything. Unfilter those opinions.

I'm pretty sure that Whoopi Goldberg just likes to be a contrarian shit-stirrer. Which is great. People need to do that more, get the general public acquainted with ideas that are outside of their wheelhouses. Especially with the idea that you can just laugh things off if they're sufficiently ridiculous - even if they're offensive.

I'm not sure if anyone here's familiar with Ted Danson's blackface performance at the Friar's Club in the early '90s, but it made people REAL upset. Whoopi Goldberg, who was dating Danson at the time, apparently helped him write it - and continued to say that she thought it was funny after everyone was taking him to task.

Matthew Goldin exhibiting the the De-Evolution of your standard Saturday Night Live comedy writer in regards to their opinions on JK Rowling and the Potterverse.

Ehhhh... Matthew Goldin routinely posts dry sarcastic stuff on his Twitter Feed and treats his tweets as a comedy routine. There's no reason to think this obvious and continuous mood whiplash is his actual opinion as opposed to him deliberately doing it because he thinks it's funny.

Granted whether or not it's funny is quite debatable, and I say this as a fan of dry sarcastic comedy.

I'll also mention, having watched it on and off for decades, Saturday Night Live follows a very predictable multi-year cycle.

10 SNL has some very funny comics who do great stuff! The show is amazing!
20 The top comics attract enough attention to peel off of SNL and get their own movies and shows.
30 Only the dross is left and the show is run by unfunny failures who couldn't attract a movie deal.
40 People proclaim it's become Saturday Night Dead (You are here).
50 The show buffs its lineup with some fresh blood who haven't made a name for themselves yet. Some turn out to be very funny.
60 GOTO 10

Apparently one of the reasons Joss Whedon escaped scrutiny for acting "toxic" for so long was because he was only perving over the hot ladies.

New York Post said:
“Empire” creator Strong continued in the book, “And it seems like who it was toxic for was the really attractive women. That was who he was creating really unpleasant working experiences for. And it’s not in your typical sexual-harasser way, even.”

“These stories, they’re sort of atypical in creating this petty, almost high-school-like environment in pitting the pretty girls all against each other. I’m sure there’s a lot of psychological depth about what that says about Joss,” Strong continued.

He also mentioned that the “Nevers” creator’s nature wouldn’t have changed if he had more Hollywood experience.

Strong explained, “I think that this mentality that we’re seeing in [Whedon] is kind of like this high school nerd who’s angry that the pretty girls didn’t like him and he gets older and he’s gonna lash out at the pretty girls or hook up with some of the pretty girls, and the pretty girls that don’t want to hook up with him he’s going to lash out at them in some way or turn other girls against them.”

Someone got slap happy...

Damn this was the most interesting Oscars in years. Kudos to Chris Rock for making this Awards Show interesting again!

I think Jada Pinkett Smith would make an amazing GI Jane. Not sure why Will Smith got so triggered over more Black female representation.

If that wasn't staged Will Smith committed a crime.

He is rich and part of the elite, therefore it isn't a crime. Don't you know, the "better" folk are above the law, and that the law only applies to us serfs? Wait, serfs imply we have rights, I believe the correct term would then be "untouchables"...or am I again making an error?
