I suggest still doing a barricade or getting people to protect their own areas with guns or improvised weapons and attempted barricades and hope it dies down

It's a joke not a serious suggestion. Humor aside the correct action is to just move in, dismantle the thing and arrest everyone but it's funny to joke about them all killing themselves to infighting and purity spirals and saving everyone else the trouble of doing anything more then cleaning up afterwards.

Cool down on motardation a bit, using military at home is always the last resort and not something to be done because it looks cool in movies. Also military SF units are not a magic wang, they don't get much hostage rescue training, so dead hostages are very much a possibility.
