California starts to ban natural gas in homes.

This makes absolutely no sense. Natural Gas burns very clean and is very fuel efficient. Why wouldn't you use it!?

It’s still something that burns

They don’t look to want to compromise with lesser evils, that’s why I talked to my brother who was talking about starting up a business to use the huge amounts of trash here in my country The Philippines as fuel

I pointed out there were organizations overseas against it on the basis that it still causes pollution

But it would probably cause even more pollution longterm if just left around dumpsites and in the first place, how much do people actually recycle old junk?

Municipal garbage has good value as fuel. We used to design waste to energy incinerators for the USA, and got good thermal value from them, until the EPA declared the incinerator ash as hazardous waste, and refused to consider any technically feasible methods of inerting the waste. This killed them, economically. If you have a saner environmental agency, it could work.

Gas BAD! Solar and wind GOOD! Me is SMERT!
Yup, solar and wind are the only politically correct energy sources. Natural gas is a borderline one, as it's still a fossil fuel. And i suspect wind will get attacked by the greens too (over dead birds and infrasounds) if it does too well.
Reminder that the ideological leaders of the greens hate human civilization in general and prosperity in particular; they want you to be unable to afford much energy, travel, meat or a dwelling that's not a tiny apartment in a city.

Currently reading David Weber & John Ringo’s Prince Roger/Empire of Man series

There’s an entire civilization called the Church of Ryback or “The Saints” who basically do that

They want to “un-Terraform” every single planet colonized by humans and go back to Earth where they will live in an idealised eco friendly society....all while being even MORE inefficient and environmentally unfriendly than those they sneer at and accuse whilst having populations of very underfed(on purpose)people to lessen their “Carbon Footprint”

Apparently it’s leadership can trace itself from the Champagne Socialist types generations back in-universe that pop up even in human nobility, who are considered by Prince Roger’s chief aid to be the worst kind of rich asshole

(She said there were the ones who lived such a sheltered life that they can’t related, understand or at worst even CARE about the poorer people. The type of rich people that romanticise poverty....and the last which basically think poorer people are “magical” and end up doing policies in an attempt to directly control/help them....and failing horribly whilst falling for guys like The Saints)

That’s downright eerie.

That’s downright eerie.

The series was supposed to have a sequel and going by spoilers and me skimming even though I’m still at the beginning of Book 3

There’s gonna have to be a war with the Saints, one where every single bit of their government is eliminated and the people are finally freed of their wiser&more-environmentally-friendly-yet-highly-wasteful leadership and their insane ideaology

Speaking of which....

Renting a bunk only costs 25% less than a two-bedroom apartment, that's outrageous. Maybe if it was only $400 a month it would be more reasonable of you insist on living in a trendy urban neighborhood. Another thing is I remember the question if "why don't the bunks have curtains?" coming up often, which apparently the owners (of one of these services) are opposed to because "privacy is antisocial".

This sets off too many cult red flags. Some residents being so fanatic that they tattoos themselves with the company logo sets off even more.

Hey, believe it or not, we get a report on it on national news here in France just yesterday.
Totally not sending us a signal here :p
it apparently cost 1000$, which is insane since you can get a pretty good appartment for that price here, in the town center.
They even got a curfew.

I meant it went up on national TV, at the 8 PM journal, the most watched journal of the day, on the most watched TV channel.
Also owned by the state I believe? Unless it is one of the many things Macron sold.

found this on their sites.
edit: it is obviously in french.
here is a rough traduction of the small resume:
Size isn’t to the taste of american youth anymore. When it come to housing, young people are ready to pay a lot of money to live in some sort of dormitory. They chose Podshare, a new concept that is in vogue in California. They pay 1000€ every month for a superimposed bed in a shared space

Lol, and these are the people who go on and on about how capitalism and companies are evil but they protect these companies and even tatoo themselves with the company logo. And yet they act so self-righteous.

I find it Hilarious, in a sad way, that people from my generation cling to new concept and company that are considered hype and cool and anti-system etc....but exploit them like people haven’t been exploited in nearly a century :/

About 100 years or so, during the industrial revolution, workers threatened their job-givers for the shitty living conditions that were forced on them. Now their descendants gleefully put themselves under the same conditions and would probably even embrace living in company towns. How sad is that.

Among the alternatives Mr. Cuomo suggested were having gas delivered by truck or barge, increasing the use of renewable energy sources and finding ways to encourage customers to use less gas.
What a whacko...
a) Would you please increase the gas prices?
b) That does not constitute supplying natural gas, does he think "renewables" are a weird new word for magic?
c) I mean it, raise gas prices, pretty please.

Considering the ultimatum, i think the company's next move will be to fulfill his unsaid wish and increase gas prices to a level where the current supply can meet the demand.

There is a reason why the phrase ‘useful idiot’ exists after all. Though I’d say this is yet more ammunition ‘we’ can use against the California commies and their friends. So much for their great socialist state: their more slaves to the ‘evil capitalists’ then ever! It’s almost as if the they've been promised a pack of lies.
