So what do you guys say about the whole Russia has bounties on US soldiers thing?
Naturally certain websites are falling for it hook, line and sinker. It looked like a stupid article in the first place.
It's wholly dependent on anonymous intelligence officials who derived this intelligence from captured Afghan terrorists. criminals and insurgents.
Not exactly the most reliable pipeline of intelligence to base national policy or engage in retaliation for.
Plus I'm not sure the point or payoff for Russia in offering bounties to already anti-American insurgencies to kill more Americans? Like... your risking an escalation of conflict if true and if it does come out and is confirmed and the tradeoff is what? A few more American bodybags maybe?
Maybe if Russia was paying the Taliban in an effort to derail the Peace Process in Afghanistan, THAT would make sense, but I don't think any of the media sources intimated that. I could be wrong.
Wouldn't be terribly surprised I've seen no conclusive proof though. Opionons mean jackshit only legit evidence matters. That being said if I were Putin and I thought I could keep it secret I'd do it. So who the hell knows? So what do you guys say about the whole Russia has bounties on US soldiers thing?
Has there been any evidence provided that this is true and not made up?
Which suits the Democrats just fine; because otherwise, it might have been proven false, and that would not serve their narrative. The Intelligence community were doing the investigation to see if it was true, because it was unconfirmed Intel (Misinformation,Fake or if it was true), they need to have evidence that the can prove that it was real. because of NYT using this unconfirmed Intel as a political hit job. now it is impossible to finish the investigation to find out if it was truly Real or not.
I don't get the Lefts irrational Russophobia.
I bet the Russians loved that.I guess its because they need an enemy, and China has grown too big and powerful to be made to submit to US and "liberal values". Also, Russia has a lot of natural resources that could be "liberalized" and "democratized".
Hell, Hillary Clinton once said "it was unfair the wealth of Siberia belonged to Russia" and that "it should be placed under democratic control".
This plus attempts to stir up residual cool war feelings. Hell if this was the 90s it likely would've worked. As the GOP was still very much in cold war mode.I guess its because they need an enemy, and China has grown too big and powerful to be made to submit to US and "liberal values". Also, Russia has a lot of natural resources that could be "liberalized" and "democratized".

Not to say they are innocent babes, but they are far more like the US than many are comfortable admitting.
Once it became obvious China wa ridigg. What we should've done is offer an olive branch. Then get the Russians into an anti-china alliance. It's a real shame we didn't plus as a bonus. If we had Moscow on our side they'd check Tehran withoutus doing anything. Alot of foolish decsions were made in the 90s.Personally, I think Russia gets way to much hate from both the Right and Left.
The US would never have gotten free of Britain if the Russian monarchy hadn't sided with us, along side France.
And the US wouldn't have near the power in the Pacific or as many natural resources without Alaska. Russia sold it to us cheap to keep Britian from trying to poach it during unrest.
With the BS the Clinton's and other Cold Warriors have pulled since the Berlin Wall came down, I'm not blaming them for feeling the US is out to get them. I'd prefer the US to work with Russia to conquer the stars, rather than bicker over old grudges.
Even the shit going on in the Ukraine is only happening because the border between Ukraine and Russia was modified by Gorbachev during the late USSR years.
