The Boomers and Nellis Airfield get teleported to outskirts of the Shire. The Boomer Ammunition reserves and condition is in peak strength and the Boomers are willing to recruit only the most exceptional and trustworthy beings to their clan.

In addition to the massive reserve of weapons they have they also have access to 300 105 mm Howitzers with one million shells follow by a pair of fully functional B29 Bombers.

Edit: Sauron's armies still have to fight the free men and other good people they did in canon.

Three hundred plus howitzers? How are they supposed to get past that lol.

Boomers were racking up a kill ratio of 43.6 to 1 before they even got the Howitzers against armed savages!

Donate their Howitzers to the Elven Kingdoms and Kingdoms of Man?

Rohan gets like 30 Howitzers perhaps?

Do they have the supply chain and facilities to manufacture more ammo and spare parts? If not, then Boomers will be able to temporaily shock the forces of Sauron, but eventually the Boomers will run out of ammo and their equipment will break down and Sauron's forces will recover.

If they get inserted into Middle-Earth with a working plane and enough fuel, then the Boomers can just take the One Ring straight to Mount Doom.

They get the limited resources they had in canon, irc they were self sufficient for fuel and had like five years worth of missiles.

This isn't including the million explosive shells I gave them, only issue will be the limited parts for the Howitzers and Planes (They only have two planes here)

How goes the song? ''We got maxim and they don't.''

And it's not just machineguns, it's the artillery - the god of war, 105 mm shells turn unprotected infantry into modernist artwork. The only reason Soviet and Chinese ''human wave attacks'' worked is due to artillery support, armor support and small arms suppressive fire.

Irc main issue will be getting their gear where it needs to be, the Shire puts them pretty far from the main armies and heavy fighting.

Altho they'd have Nazgul to deal with 😬

I think that the boomers also had a decent number of landmines around Nellis.

Also, what shells do they have, HE, fragmentation, proximity fused?

I mean, the outcome will be the same, the specialized crowd pleasers will just be a cherry on top.

Also, I think they had only 1 bomber in canon, not two.

But between all their various weapons and other defenses like walls, barbed wire, mines, watch towers and the like I think it will be extremely easy to take out all of Sauron's troops.

The battle of Helm's deep for instance, saw an army of 10 000 orcs and other assorted Souron allies and forces, so I would say that low tens of thousands should be the maximum he can summon.

Regarding AA, I think the boomers had some, but really 300 howitzers can make that army into mince meat on their own, nevermind all the small arms and the like.

Once fun strategy would be to lure in the enemy closer and scatter Sauron's host with massed artillery fire, right into the surrounding, mined area.

This will be a slaughter on the level of the battle of Alnus Hill in Gate.

Since in canon Sauron send 60.000+ strong army to take Minas Tirith, which was small part of his soldiers,we could assume that he had 1 Million - but no more.
one shell for one orc - should be enough.
Only problem - how deliver howitzers to Gondor,Rohan and dwarves.

One million is a huge army that a medieval economy would not be able to support.

In the middle ages, armies were in the low tens of thousands at the most.

And I am pretty sure that all those not-Elephants and Orcs need more chow than your average horse and human.

To be fair Sauron and his mooks aren't exactly medieval dudes, they're magic and such.
I mean film-Orcs come straight out of the ground like oversized maggots.

I think those were the Uruk-Hai, not the orcs proper.
That was part of Saruman's wierdo experiments, but I do not see any evidence of that magic extending to agricultural production.

Then again, they do have 'tatoes' which are pretty caloric, not that it will increase the size of the army by much.

Also keep in mind the barrels can wear out long before they run out of shells so they'll probably have to use the majority of their ammo for makeshift explosives.

Boomers Last Standing Various Apocalypti from Nellis seems like it could be a legitimate template for a plethora of Versus Ideas... not to mention CYOA's and Quest derivatives.
