Why? What bennefit would it gain Russia? Would them putting whoever is closest to the dead Romanov's in charge make the regions that used to be part of the Russian empire want to rejoin Russia? If it was that, then it would be diffrent. But at this point, you might as well just make a new dynasty.

I wouldn't be opposed to a Chinese style monarchy restoration (A new family making a Dynasty and claiming the right to rule) but that is somewhat harder in the west. As for benefits, it would allow to tap into Imperial Prestige to keep pride in the nation without having to resort to overt use of Hard Power like Putin is doing in Ukraine.
One thing worth noting is that AFAIK his mother changed the Russian royal marriage laws for him after her branch of the family has previously refused to do this for other Russian royals, which looks rather self-serving.
