The emails bit connecting Hunter and Joe are the real important bits, because it's kinda hard to prove Joe knew about any CP stuff. It certainly makes things look worse for Joe, but doesn't directly implicate him in illegal stuff.

The emails referencing Joe in the bribes/pay-offs are the ones that are really bad for him.

But he's played his part, done his duty as a citizen, and doesn't have anything that gives him leverage/makes him a danger to the people who could be hurt by this.

As regards the FBI I must admit to finding myself a bit confused why in four years the Trump administration hasn't supposedly brought them to heel yet, unless there is something going on behind the scenes and maybe the FBI isn't as incompetent/corrupt as it is appearing. Afterall President Trump himself has not been saying much about the FBI on this issue the last few days and both Wray and Barr have been oddly silent on the issue.
