Culture Beauty Standards & Jealousy & Attempts-To-Change-Them

I may not be from the West, but lots of things I enjoy are from it and Japan and one thing I notice looks to be that the West in particular is trying to change or reject beauty standards

Japan on the other hand is much more unashamedly in love with fanservice

I had some classes in college that had absolutely nothing to do with Feminism, but somehow involved them....like my Filipino class that suddenly went on about female beauty standards and what boobs are for and that big boobs are terrible and involve breast cancer

The West, I think is really trying to go for average, masculine, fat, rail-thin-androgynous physiques and looks for women, both for actors and even fictional ones

Thing is, anybody here think that these attempts are really horribly unsuccessful and possibly backfiring and getting dudes to look away?

I think Westerners have a culture of shame or a sort of accepted wide inferiority complex for women’s beauty standards even in-regards to fictional 2D or CGI women

Having the looks like those could probably only be gained through a combination of fitness, good genetics and not being old(I consider plastic surgery as too obviously fake and creepy). People can get rather self conscious when they look at others and compare themselves.

Tell me if I’m wrong or not, or how bad do you guys feel it is, cause I’m not from the West.....though even in third world countries.....communism receives support in universities

That's not westerners, that's feminists, fashion designers of not necessarily heterosexual sexual orientation and weirdos like "fat activists". Overall a whole lot of people not interested in female beauty standards in the same way heterosexual men are, and in fact often don't like these men at all for ideological reasons.

That always blew my mind. Feminists blame unrealistic beauty standards on men. When it's the fashion industry that does that. Which is overwhelmingly gay dudes and broads.

The fashion industry? The clothes I’ve seen coming from there are almost all pants

And outfits I neither find cute nor sexy

Also, I don’t think men are into anorexic annies

That's the point the "unrealistic standards" they talk about are pushed by women and gays. Men have much much looser standards and find most of them sick looking. Yet somehow it's straight men's fault those standards(established by broads and gay dudes) are the straight dudes fault.

Wait, are you saying its the female and gay dude dominated fashion industry which are the reason why men like big tits and ass?

The female fashion industry, I think these days, look pretty androgynous to me

Honestly, I think at this point, they both embrace the ultra skinnies and the morbidly obese ladies, both of whom lack good genetics and attempts to at least stay fit and healthy, because they spit on the kind kf bodies they know men really like(nice T&A, nice curves, some lean muscle and THICCness.....THICC is better than flat and flab)

No I'm saying the unrealistic beauty standards feminists complain about. Are overwhelmingly pushed by women and gay men. Feminists whining about comics and such is niche. Thier main focus is on mass media at large. Which very much pushes the ultra thin model look and have for decades.

Yeah, though I think those feminists also dislike tits and ass on ladies

Ultra Thin and butch dyke hair and masculine/androgynous clothes included

The ultra thin look is the closest compromise between tits and ass and obesity or pudginess

Ok what you need to understand is that feminists are a hate group.

General rule of thumb is if men like it then they want to destroy it or ruin it, if they don't like it then they will talk about how great it is. Their motivation is purely spite and hatefulness, in any just society we would treat them like the Klu Klux Klan but instead they get government grants.

I call them the Klan wirh a clam personally.

Beauty standards seem to change with the times. Look at the 50's and early 60's where a more voluptuous shape was seen as more desirable with the likes of Jane Russell and Marilyn Monroe.

Indeed, Audrey Hepburn was seen as the unusual one with her elfin like figure and short hair.

Voluptuous women have been the standard until recently. Just look at paintings from the middle ages and such. I think the wait thing is 100% women pushing an agenda. As for the 50s and 60s men were much more represented in Hollywood and culture might be the reason.

I never mentioned Hollywood in particular, although to be fair the people I named were in the industry. Other examples would be the pinup art of the likes of Gil Ehlvgren. The ultra thin model has been more the likes of Kate Moss onwards, and as for an androgynous look, a prime example might be, again in the film industry, the likes of Tilda Swinton, though there were earlier examples like the singer Annie Lennox.

As for Audrey Hepburn, I believe her look was not totally intentional as she had illnesses brought on by her experiences during the war, anemia and malnutrition among others.

Part of the reasons the fashion industry goes for tall and thin models are practical ones. First of all, it's easier to design clothes that look good on tall and thin people. Second one, and this one was told me by a girl who was a model, they want to reduce as much as possible the quantity of material they use on each piece, and you can't do that with voluptuous models.

Ohh. How does the teacher insert that in a Filipino subject?

I didn’t question it at the time, really......I got no idea why she suddenly used a rapping music video with a vid about a guy and his girlfriend and proposals for breast implants she was rejecting and later on, a pic from Black Lagoon ranking girls by breast size

Ohhh. I see. That is weird.. There's no relation to the subject.
