Another day in Portland, another protest. Originally this protest was to whine about indigenous Indians not being able to grow wild rice because of construction of some pipeline (Stop Line 3) or something, but eventually they approached the Portland Federal Courthouse and all of the Indian drumming and chanting faded away as low-T black clad Protesters decided to take full advantage of the fact the fences around the Courthouse were no longer in place.

Maybe not so much a protest though as Domestic Terrorism if we believe our new Attorney General Merrick Garland.

Merrick Garland said:
Well, Senator, my own definition, which is about the same as the statutory definition, is the use of violence or threats of violence in attempt to disrupt the democratic processes. So an attack on a courthouse, while in operation, trying to prevent judges from actually deciding cases, that plainly is domestic extremism, domestic terrorism. An attack simply on a government property at night, or any other kind of circumstances, is a clear crime and a serious one, and should be punished. I don’t know enough about the facts of the example you’re talking about. But that’s where I draw the line. One is — both are criminal, but one is a core attack on our democratic institutions.

They shattered one of the courthouses fancy new windows as well.

Was this while the court was open? Because according to Garland, that's what makes it terrorism.

He said the difference between them "attacking" the Senate and then attempting to burn down the federal courthouse were different because the court was not in session, so that means it's not terrorism.

This appears to be an open court. Terrorism.

So by the left's own standards, this is terrorism.

There is the whole matter of becoming what you hate to deal with. Giving up our principles to get down in the mud with them feels like we lose anyway.

If the violence resumes as the weather gets better again, and the police go back to not doing anything, there's probably going to be retaliation in the streets, and I can't say I'd blame them.
I can't either, it's not like I wouldn't want to defend my family or property. I'd like to see some law and order candidates appear; people generally prefer getting to their jobs instead of being docked pay because of a demonstration downtown or on the freeway and that call should ring with some of the general populace after a while. Somehow it doesn't get much traction that most of this happens in Democrat strongholds where the Democrats have been the ones in charge and making the laws for years.

No, it never gets through to them that the Democrats are the cause of most of their problems. They will always rationalize blaming everyone else but themselves. Of course a good part of it is that the "problems" they're using as excuses are entirely made up, and they're just commies, fighting the "revolution." ;)

Anyone who does will get the full force of the government and the NGO complex coming at them. So not only legal trouble but endless lawsuits.
They'd have to make like the Iraqi insurgency then, I guess.

Ah I love the smell of missile spam in the morning
you know I wonder just how long these idiots would last if they tried to pull this stuff at the nearby home port of our nuclear missile subs based in the pacific

Probably as lightly as possible depending on how much of a threat they were thought to represent. Locally, some fellow Natives got it in their head to cut open a security fence around one of the many missile silos that dot the landscape around here, and go after the hatch with shovels and pick-axes. Now, the SFs would have been fully justified in dropping down on them like a bag of hammers, but since they knew they couldn't cause any real damage, they called the local county sheriff's department on them and let them arrest the idiots instead.

The army has centuries of experience with dealing with idiots and tends to know how to handle them.

Riot at the Portland Federal Courthouse last night. What is old is new again!

The fences might've come down less then a week ago but after fires were started in the building and multiple windows smashed, the Courthouse was being refortified today.
