Tell me again why I should care that they destroy their own homes? If they came out here up in the mountains, I'd have much more of an issue. But then... so would they...

Because the cities they ruin will do nothing to stop it from happening again and will demand/get taxpayer money either from the state of Federal government to repair the damage. Because this nonsense never stays contained and if left unchecked, will grow as the movement gets more support and power.
Because Antifa is the militent wing of the democratic party. This is not a new thing, back in the day the Klu Klux Klan was the militant wing of the democratic party. Their job is to go out and commit violence on their masters behalf while having just enough plausable denighability to get away with it.
The democrats are not going to willingly arrest the guys they have to strong arm people and commit violence on their behalf. The way this ends is one of 3 ways.
1. it runs out of steam on its own.
2. The GOP starts legally cracking down.
3. People get sick of it and we see Antifa members dead bodies on the streets.
Number 2 is the most likely option, number 1 is the second most likely and I honestly don't think there is enough hate for number 3 to realistically happen right now. Theres anger but you don't have that metasasized hate and rage.
Antifa is generally really careful about where they go and do this stuff. Notice they only do these really crazy fight the police / seize ground activities in deep blue states, they don't even try them in marginally blue state / purple states, nor red states. That's because in anything but the Deep Blue states the local population actually presents a fairly serious risk to them if they went to these levels of escalation (in those states they tend to just march and get in people's faces trying to instigate and get the other side to start stuff so they can play victim). Further, in marginal states while a local city government might cuck out to them there's a good chance the State itself won't, as even if the power is in Dem hands they can't allow that level of disruption lest they lose the next election, and if it's a Republican government there's a good chance the State level government will crack down.
If they tried to do this kind of thing in a deep red area? There'd be blood and they know it, and it wouldn't be the police's.

I'm reminded of footage from 2020, when an Antifa crowd tried to show up and start something in what was very clearly a Conservative town/neighborhood. They were getting their asses beat by a bunch of middle-aged guys in tank tops, while a crowd was steadily gathering telling them to get lost.

The cities hosting these ugly motherfuckers deserve all the chaos they bring.
From my understanding, that’s largely due to that money already being allocated in the budget passed by Congress and the presidency having limited ability to actively interfere with the power of the purse.
He would be under no obligation to help them rebuild if ANTIFA burns everything down, unless the money is allocated by Congress.
I could be wrong though.

As much as this sucks.
In the long run this will probally save a whole lot of lives for people in my community. The left as we know it is most likely on a long term downward spiral and when the left wing establishment finally goes down its going to take out every one who's involved with it down with it.
Having the left turn on us at the relatively early stage of the downward spiral means our chances of survival get a lot better in the long term. Sure short term were going to suffer, I mean suffer a fucking lot, but in the long term it means were not going to be collectively chained to a sinking diseased ship.
Also I get to be smug as hell when I go to temple so you know double win.
On certainly hopes so, anyway.
