Anmutig sündigen wir - Attack on Titan

Chapter I

VictortheMonarch

Victor the Crusader
Before we begin it has been some time since I have published on . The last time I Published something here It was something that had been in my doc's for about half a year and I thought might be a good thing to try publishing. I have since then upped my ability in writing (somewhat...) and will publish a new chapter roughly about every Friday (in that timeframe at least, God knows if something happens that causes a pause.), it might slow down to every two weeks, it depends on whether I get called in to do an extra shift at work, I get one roughly every two weeks, but it ebbs and flows as people quit the prison I work at.
Lastly, I want you all to direct your thoughts to 'The Dark 1ne' and his story "Back to the Beginning", which mine is partially based off of. His story has slowly brought me back to writing, and I have many thanks to him.
Of course I do not own Attack on Titan, that honor belongs to
Hajime Isayama.
Chapter I: Aus der Nacht

Death.

Destruction.

Blood.

All that remained was Blood.

Eren had completed The Rumbling at a cost, a cost that many would consider too grave, a guilt that would drive many mad. To Kill one person would strain any man, but to personally witness the death of a near billion lives crushed underfoot? To kill not just the men, but the women and children too? To kill them all, until every last one was dead?

Eren deserved the depths of helheim, but not just for the sins of Genocide, but for the death of his own friends, his own family.
He tried. He tried again and again to subdue them. He should have known that by granting Ymir her freedom she would not give him the chance to die a martyr to the sins he had committed. Even though he would die either way, she would ensure his friends followed him to the end, the Ancient shifters of old began to devour his friends, and he was nought but to watch.

Flashback POV | Mikasa

Shooting up the bones of Eren's deformed founding titan in a desperate attempt to escape the onslaught of titans. At first there were just two dozen of them, now there was a dozen per bone. Out of the corner of her eye she watched as Reiner was devoured by a ram-like titan, before his own form was added to the armada of shifters that besieged them.

Jean and Connie had been killed earlier, Jean having caught mid air and devoured by an ancient Jaws and Connie being stepped on by a female titan.
Annie had fallen ages ago it feels, tossed off the founder by Bertholdt's colossal form hanging from the shoulder blades of the behemoth.

She knew a rough location of Pieck, and from the looks of it, she would be dead within a few minutes, surrounded by a dozen attack and Beast titans.
Finally Mikasa found a safe haven, if only for a moment. Shortly after Captain Levi landed next to her. "Captain!" She yelled, he was bloodied and down to his last blade, one could also assume based on how slow he was getting he was running out of gas. "What do we do now? What can we do? Everyone… everyone's gone." She said, watching as Falco's titan crashed and was crushed underfoot. They were alone now.

"With no escape we do was we must… we fight. We end this. I will go and distract them and keep them off you. You have more gas, you can reach the head, go there and find Eren… End this. He must be there, I know it in my bones." Levi said, before taking off. Quickly following suit.

Mikasa grappled from bone to bone, dodging several titans shortly before reaching the head. Turning back she saw Levi kill two Attack Titans, dodge Reiners titan before being grabbed mid-air by a familiar seventeen meter tall ape titan. She watched as Levi struggled, but his blade was too dull, he was devoured. She panicked.

Her Panic was her downfall as she herself was grabbed. This time by a 16 meter tall Attack Titan. Far bulkier than the rest with black hair and lavender eyes it reminded her of her second father… It brought her to it's mouth and as she felt the teeth close around her head she knew, She had failed.

Present POV | The Paths

"YMIR!" His voice echoed through the paths. The Rumbling was complete and now all was gone. Eldia was safe, but what he fought for was dead. He would soon follow them, Gabi's accurate shot having separated his spine, he would be dead the moment he cancels the founding titan.

"I saved you, Eren Jaeger. Either they died, or you would have."

"I had the Ancient Titans under my Control, I was going to subdue them, not slaughter them!" He said, all the anger within swelling to the surface.

"You would have failed, it was destined that you would die, or they would have. As you saved me from an endless fate, I have saved you from death itself. You could live a full life now, the restraints once born upon by my death long since gone."

"You're right, I can… feel my body becoming whole once more. But would I want it? Would I want to live knowing a billion lives rest beneath my foot? Could I live with such a cruel fate? Would my wife still love me knowing the sins I have done? Will my Daughter?"

"Perhaps she will, perhaps she won't. But in the end you shall grow old and watch your daughter live a life, one she would not have lived had you failed this night of the end. Are you saying that it was not worth it, to save your Daughter Maria?" Her head tilting to the side, a sad smile adorning her face.

Eren sighed, a few tears dropping to the sand beneath. "It will always be worth it, for the freedom of my children any price is cheap. But in all the timelines I have seen none are happy without my friends…" he said, picking up a handful of sand and watching as it fell through his fingers.

"Perhaps so, but does that mean you plan to end it? To waste away in this flattened wasteland? To become food for what creatures yet remain? As it stands that isn't the only way…" she said, her back turned to him, she stared at the Paths.

"What… What do you mean…?" He said wide-eyed, she didn't mean to risk it all once more did she?

She turned to him once more, a child-like smile upon her face. "There are many cosmos unto which exist, totality is ever expanding, perhaps there is one were you can take form… what do you say, Eren Jaeger? Care to try one last time?" She asked, her purple eyes smiling at him.

"B-but wouldn't Historia and my daughter cease to exist? If we restarted this again?" he asked, not willing to take the chance.

"Ah, but it is an alternative totality, a world unto which all actions of this one had never existed. The last time you sent your memories back it was not to another time, it was but to another world, you just hadn't realized it at the time." Ymir said, leaving Eren flabbergast. She giggled at the way his mouth remained open, before childishly walking up to him, leaning into his face. "What do you say, Eren Jaeger, care to do this joust once more?" she said, and Eren nodded.

"Yes, I accept your offer, Ymir!" he said as she smiled. "'Til we meet again, Eren Jaeger."
