Saw Episode Two Last Night and I still like the show a lot. Some of the Brotherhood stuff was wonky, especially Knight-Lord Titus but we won't have to worry about him anymore. Seeing him getting in a fist fight with a Yao Guai was amusing enough, and I wondered if it was going to survive and the Squire was going to strip him of his armor after rendering him unconscious, but that wasn't the case.

As for the town of Philly... I am disappoint. I thought it would look like a post-apocalyptic version of Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood, but it looks way too nice and clean to be based off of Philadelphia's finest neighborhood. So that ruined my SoD a bit.

I did like how Lucy's first encounter with a proper Wastelander was a friendly and thirsty lad. I loved the dialogue exchange between them and how he had never been over a hill just a few kilometers away his entire life. I guess she couldn't settle down because she has to continue the mission. The show is based on game logic after all. Wouldn't be much a game if you spent 90% of your gametime designing a settlement or whatever. *coughs*

The gun battle was cool and I've already see the VATS version of it, so I think it works.

The fight between Maximus and the Ghoul was also neat enough. Maximum did better then I thought he would tbh.

I'm just really digging the characters and dialogue in general. It's all just very neat.

Some random observations though.

Why didn't Emma buy that elixir that the Merchant said could regrow a foot? Wasted opportunity. I know he's a chicken fucker or whatever, but we're not buying chickens from him and that has no bearing on his ability to sell pharmaceutical products. He literally said it could heal feet... and regrow feet. I had closed captioning on... it didn't say he was lying. SMH.

Also.. when Maximum interfered in that domestic dispute with the aforementioned chicken fucker, I'm glad that the disagreement was just about chicken fucking and not like... "HE MURDERED AND ATE MY FAMILY" or some nonsense. Not everything has to be uber grimdark. Guy just got clucked is all.

The Doctor was a neat character while he lasted. I liked the bit about Vault-Tec hawking a suicide pill with banana flavor, especially with it being set up earlier with the family of skeletons. Speaking of which, seeing that family that killed themselves, it reminds me of many of the best moments of Fallout 3 where you'd come upon skeletons in certain areas or positions and if your paying attention you just realize how sad their ends came. It was those quiet moments in that particular game that really made for some poignant moments.

Also Philly as a town was nice enough. It got me thinking how fortunate our other Fallout protagonists were in ending up in fairly friendly communities their first time around. Shady Sands, Klamath, Megaton and Goodsprings are all pretty nice places to first stumble in. Even in Fallout 4, your faithful robo butler is still hanging out inside of your house in Sanctuary Hills.

But yeah, good stuff so far. Maximus is kinda mid at the moment. I actually like (Razor)Dane more but ya know, it's all fine still.

To give my position on the issue, I have no problem with the NCR capitol being nuked as given it is a major population center with density, nukes are floating around in post war America and the NCR has no shortage of enemies, it's not unthinkable.

My only issue is this may mean New Vegas is being retconned and screw that.

So, let's just assume that Shady Sands got destroyed after the events of New Vegas and the year being earlier is misunderstood or a typo what does that mean for New California and New Vegas?

Well, if the NCR won that means New Vegas likely fell into chaos, although the families might be able to pick up the pieces but fighting over the top dog position will go on for years with no one to keep them in line.

If Caesar won, provided the Legion is still even around, which I heavily doubt because if they still were they would have already moved into a crippled NCR by now, although it's possible the 'Fall of Shady Sands' mentioned may not be due to the nuking but a part of a war against a victorious Legion which overextended itself and got wiped out only for Shady Sands to get destroyed shortly after the conflict when it got retaken. (Extremely unlikely)

Even the Legion won and is still against all odds holding on, I don't see New Vegas as being even remotely recognizable from what we see in the games after what they would do to it.

If House won, things would probably go into a downturn given House's reliance on selling water and electricity to the NCR and his tourist economy with them, although people will still come, and water is still a vital commodity House would have to take a lot of upkeep cost to keep them going, he probably will poach higher learners from the NCR to help fuel his initiative to reignite the technology sectors.

In other words, it would take tremendous wind out of House sail but wouldn't stop him entirely he probably would face a little unrest but would keep things together.

If Independent Free Vegas happened, things would be far more chaotic than House although still far less chaotic than if the NCR annexed the strip, there wouldn't be a power vacuum but without the central guiding hand of Mr House to keep stability things would be more hectic, if the Courier is still in charge of Yes Man then things might be somewhat alright but if he is dead or just vanished after the events of New Vegas leaving no power structure for the city then things can get very bad to the point the NCR might as well have been in charge for all the difference it makes with factions vying for control of Yes Man.

It's all a big question mark really.

I am just sick and tired of the BoS being the mary sue faction of the franchise, I like how by NV they're so obliterated that some underequipped goons with service rifles can kill them all, but somehow on the flipside they're actively moving around with mega-zeppelins and apparently are endless in number and technology.

To my mind, I like the idea of the Brotherhood being a genuine knightly/monastic order (post apocalyptic Astartes wooooooo). Of course that precludes them from being perfect, much as it was for any order of yesteryear. Yet, despite their seclusion and gruff military nature, a Brotherhood chapter at its best will absolutely come to the aid of those in need.

At least, that’s how I’d write them.

Edit: Lol, I think that’s not too far off from how the writers of Fallout 1 envisioned them.

Yeah I don't like the BOS being the main focus either

If they were gonna have the West Coast return to power then the East Coast should have been defeated by the Institute, the Institute has WAY more potential for Empire Building and the time skip could have been enough time to fix its issues if the Sole Survivor wanted to.

If the FO4 Brotherhood won in the Common Wealth what concerns me is
GLU0nYRWAAAp8Hv

How are they falling from grace? (Subpar Knights and Weapons) Victory over the Institute if anything would make the Brotherhood stronger not weaker, the only thing I could think of would be

A) Maxson gave the Prydwen to a newly formed chapter to start expanding or return to the West Coast to aid the remaining Brotherhood forces.
B) The Brotherhood led by Maxson didn't win the Commonwealth war with the Institute and retreated from the East Coast and back West due to heavy losses.

(I'm personally leaning towards Option A even though I prefer Option B)

Saw Episodes three and four last night and I'm still digging it. Thaddeus is a better Squire then Maximus ever was and Maximus was a better Knight Titus then Knight Titus ever was. I'm digging their chemistry and its a nice subversion of the Bullies revenge type of thing. I was pleased when Thaddeus survived the Gulper attack and instead they prolapsed the shit out of its insides. Well done. The creativity of the cartoonish gore and violence is just great. I was bummed it wasn't a Mirelurk or one of its variants, but might as well have something new. Sad about the fawn though.

When Maximum put his Power Armor up for hoisting and left it, I was totally expecting it to get ganked since he was just leaving it there, so I'm glad they dealt with that as well. Him being more formidable by wielding a wrench and toilet seat was nice, but I'm glad he still wasn't quite good enough until he got some access to the Power Armor.

I will confess, Knight Titus being a complete asshole in Episode Two seemed pretty set up and formulaic with how much of an asshole he was, but realizing that was in fact Michael Rapaport that was portraying Knight Titus actually makes a lot of sense in lore. I could totally see Michael Rapaport using his fame and asshattery to persuade himself into becoming a Knight Lord asshole and ending up abusing those gofers he feels are beneath him, celebrating the gun use and ownership he personally loathes other people having, and having him getting mauled to death by a two ton mutated Yao Guai and dying a slow, miserly, unloved death is a perfect character capstone for his entire career and yes... life.

What a perfectly cast character. He can just be himself and it comes off so naturally.

Anyways...

Lucy's Golden Rule focus is nice. And how the relationship between her and the Ghoul at the Lake, then to the Super Duper Mart and what happened there was really nicely set up. It might seem cheesy but Good Karma is the preferable choice for most Fallout players and she's definitely doing a Good Karma playthrough. And it's good that she seems to be setting an example for other people. It wouldn't be as strong a story doing this if the NCR or some other civilization was already set up, but doing good deeds in the semi-anarchy of the Boneyard it makes more sense. She'll get a reputation like all good Vault Dwellers do.

The Super Duper Mart scene was great. I too was thinking like Lucy that she was being sold as a Sex Slave and I am also relieved that wasn't the case. That Gutsy... Slim Slim? was a gentleman and a scholar, with an excellent bedside manner.

The cannibalism threw me for a curveball... I was thinking that the Ghoul was feasting on Rog to eat his brains or spinal fluid or something so as to stave off his own feralness but apparently he was just hungry if desiring ass jerky was any indication.

Overall... I'm still liking the show in spite of expectations prior to release.

Oh and as a final note to completely invalidate my opinion again, I'm glad that this show is dealing with the taboo of the burden heavily pregnant MILFs have both in high stress situations... and living in general. Thank you Amazon's Fallout, for bringing attention and awareness to the plight many heavily pregnant Mommy Waifus have to endure for upwards of months at a time. I love the eyepatch too on Steph. Having played The Quarry I can confirm giving a person an eyepatch after suffering an unexpectedly horrific eye injury improves the character immensely. Bonus on Steph since she's a pregnant badass as well.

Mirelurk or one of its variants
Mirelurk are a specific East Coast mutation AFAIK. Originally they were Chesapeake Blue Crabs mutated by FEV and Rads (which is also why they were edible... it was a bit of a salute to a greater DC regional favorite food), and in FO4 became generically just crabs mutated by FEV and Rads.

So Arch and his pet Coanadian pigmonkey lardgolem token libtard were not very happy about this show.

But on the other hand Critical Drinker seems to have enjoyed it.
