What were the consequences of being cut off from my friends? I fell behind on all sorts of creative work I was doing. I ended up on psychiatric medication and my hair literally fell out from stress. Telogen Effluvium. Look it up.
Wow man, I really had no idea how damaging this whole debacle was for people. Honestly this is what makes me scared to speak or voice my thoughts or opinions in public, aside from when in the company of trusted friends/family. I hope you're doing much better man.

Xon infracted me on SV because I posted “disinformation” and “hoax videos” leaked out of China, even though the actual source I’d referenced on the matter of the videos leaked from Wuhan was the Guardian, who basically almost never fail a fact check.
Yeah I know. The fact that science is politicized deeply disturbs me. One of my professors who was one of the few who still had his reason left was a former researcher/physician from Sweden. He himself talked to us about Hydrochloroquine trials for Covid-19 patients and went into actual detail about the scientific study. It was actually through this that he taught us how to properly read and interpret a scientific paper and its findings.

You've got to take whatever train dodger says with a grain of salt.
Horton told me that an SB moderator had given him their username and password. He also told me that moderators on SB secretly had access to users’ PMs, but denied it in the open. Horton also told me things that he could only have known if he had access to my PMs. Later, SB’s mods explained that it’s impossible for them to access users’ PMs. Therefore, I have proof that Horton not only lied about how he obtained that information, but very likely broke into our accounts to do so.

I hope you're well now. That was really a messy debacle you went through.

SB staff were divided leading up to this, there is no denying it. There was bad blood and bitterness and one of them was almost certainly leaking like a fucking sieve. The individual in question was left leaning and went to bat for Horton more than once, even arguing in favour of overturning his ban out of nowhere. Odd timing, didn't know what the prompting there was but seems clear now.

That individual vanished in the lead up to this and was quietly removed from staff a day or two after all this business happened. Mods don't have access to a PM, but he would have had a list of members.

This wasn't just Horton, it was a coordinated move by several malcontents with an axe to grind. Nobody will remember the fact most of this was bullshit, they'll just remember the initial narrative same as the Athene situation. The first response was always going to be critical, it needed to be calm, firm and restrained until a full assessment of the facts was completed.
Exactly as expected from SB competence

I mean, this is the same staff that apparently discovered Horton was a dangerously manipulative and abusive monster, and decided to just quietly ban him and never tell anyone why, leaving their users who were still in contact with him vulnerable. I don't know what else anyone could have possibly expected.

Yeah. We all thought Horton’s ban was unjust, because he milked it for all it was worth and played the victim, telling everyone that SB’s staff were out to kill him. Unlike my case, where the cause of the ban was all out in the open, Horton’s occurred over the matter of PMs that no one has seen, and the staff never warned anybody about how manipulative he was. It took seeing QQ’s staff openly calling Horton a stalker for the spell to be broken. Horton’s behavior became visibly more deranged after that.
