I hate golf.

I can play golf without embarassing myself in a pinch, but you will get a very irritated @bintananth who will politely bitch for every moment of the 4-6 hours an 18-hole round of golf takes. If you want to complain about me not being silent while you're putting ... go watch a basketball technical foul shot.
With cameras rolling while you golf LMAO

Um ...

When you're putting everone watching basically shuts the fuck up and stays still because it's just you, the ball, and the hole.

When you're shooting a techincal foul shot it's you, the ball, the basket, and an enormous amount of visibible and audible distractions from practically everyone who isn't a referee.

When playing golf you can take your sweet ass time when putting. When playing basketball you get five seconds when shooting a free throw.

I'll post some golfing tournament clips over the weekend.

Didn't even know we had a Golf Megathread. Don't watch it much myself, but this is actually a big story.

The Saudi-backed and financed Liv Golf has apparently been having a feud with the classic PGA Tour by offering huge contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars to lure away big name Golf Stars from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf.

Keeping in mind LIV Golf only arose recently, as in the summer of last year though there were plans on creating an alternative to the PGA Tour way back in 2019 under the name 'PGL or 'Professional Golf League.'

This merger isn't apparently a takeover, but the PGA and PGA Europe as well as LIV Golf will be pooling their commercial rights to "unify the game of golf" (which was already basically unified before under the PGA but whatever) but this merger will also end all of the ongoing litigation occurring between LIV Golf and PGA Golf, mostly of the former poaching players from the latter which resulted in all sorts of legal issues in court.

The reactions to this merger seem to be negative from many players and fans who were defending the PGA Tour all of this time, in part because LIV Golf was seen as an attempt by the Saudi regime in 'sportswashing' their authoritarian regimes many human rights abuses.

Apparently some of the families of the 9/11 victims are very pissed off and upset at former President Trump as well.
