Speaker Johnson managed to piss off a lot of people. Some of the people resigning site both him and the MAGA members for them leaving Congress.
Sure. They are upsetting the gravy train.

They are supposed to agree with the left about the rigged election and Jan 6 so that trump is gone forever, not investigate and show how much of a sham the establishments claims were.

And God forbid they fight back against the swamp for the citizens.

Though I am very displeased about yet another horrible budget getting passed. Republicans are absolute cowards there except for some Maga people.

The more Rinos who resign the better anyway and maybe we can actually see some replacements for these clowns who aren't absolute cucks.

Unfortunately if too many of them resign now then the Democrats will take control of Congress and Hakeem Jeffries will be the new speaker. And that would be a total nightmare.

I would be ecstatic if these idiots were just choosing not to run again. But by leaving right now they are risking the Democrats taking both chambers of Congress. Which is probably why some of them are doing it. Because they can do more damage by leaving than staying.

MTG is downright NUTS. She's crazy to think the US House of Representatives will oust the second Speaker in a row. I do NOT see it happening period.

What are the odds and percentage likelihood of the Democrats winning back control of the US House of Representatives in eight months?

I couldn't say for an exact percentage but I'd guess it's fairly likely. Retirements, infighting, and redistricting have not put the Republicans in good position to take the House this year. If any more Republicans quit we may even lose the House before November.

Yep, we are probably looking at a Trump presidency where he controls none of the legislature

People said the same thing the first time it happened.

America is not a happy place right now and if people insist on being fuck ups they will be kicked out and replaced over and over again until you get some one who does the damned job.

Hold up, you think Democrats are likely to do better than 50-50? I thought their only hope of Senate control was with the VP tiebreaker.
Control of the House of Representatives will shift by the end of April. Nothing is gonna stop that from happening.
I wouldn't bet on it. The Republican majority may become so small that nothing can get done on a partisan basis, but I don't think Democrats will be able to gain an outright majority in the 118th Congress.

But I'm interested in what makes you so sure. Are you perhaps expecting mass resignations?

The number of GOP that are about to resign. Look at the Twitter traffic.

Even 50-50 means he it's hard to pass legislation
Sure but nominal control, having the Senate Majority Leader on your side, still lets you set the agenda: control what bills hit the floor, appointments to the executive and judicial branches, etc. So saying "Republicans won't control the Senate" implies Democrats will control the Senate.

I freely admit I'll be late to the party with anything that starts on Twitter, but I'm really skeptical. I'm betting that Republicans will continue to outnumber Democrats in the House for the entirety of the 118th Congress. We shall see whose prediction turns out to be accurate.

I hope you're right, just not getting my hopes up we retain control after all of these drop outs

Don't get me wrong: if it narrows down to a 1 or 2 seat advantage things could get real wacky. Imagine it was down to a majority of +1 and a dozen different people decided to try to hold Johnson hostage to their specific hobby horse. Mutually exclusive, of course.

GOP better hope they gain House seats in November IF they keep majority of the US House of Representatives.

We're going to be finding out in seven months if the Republicans can somehow keep control of the US House of Representatives because every seat is important. Big question is whether or not Johnson gets the McCarthy Treatment?
