Britain 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 God Bless the United Kingdom MEGA Discussion Thread

Which reminds me, @Lord Sovereign britbong, who did you vote for and how did you enjoy the Zero Seats campeign?

I personally voted for Reform, not with any expectation of victory (for the best, to be honest. My local MP is a Tory but he’s a good bloke who has done good things for my town). It was to send a message which I think has been made relatively loudly.

The Zero Seats campaign was very entertaining and whilst it didn’t quite achieve its goal, I still think it got much of what it wanted in turbo fucking the conservative in name only Conservative Party (this election has been the worst defeat in their history).

Um, allegedly they were this bad around 1945 from what AA said.

Which reminds me, I checked and he has done a postmortem, haven't watched it yet, so no TL;DW:

Nah, the Tories still had 197 seats in 1945.

They’ve got 121 in 2024.
Yeah, and there was a record low turnout, and more and more boomers are going to die between now and the next election, so they won't be able to bribe that special interest group with high real estate prices and more pensions and other kickbacks.

But still, that number should have been lower and Reform should have gotten a bigger piece of the pie.

I see that Sunak is now officially the Leader of the Opposition since he's still the Leader of the Conservative Party in the House of Commons.

Looking forward to seeing the upcoming Prime Minister's Questions.
